    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject resin, excellent in transparency, impact resistance and processability with hardly any yellowing and burning and useful as packaging container materials, etc., by coagulating a specific polymer latex with a mixture of aluminum sulfate, etc., and washing the coagulated substance with water within a prescribed pH range. CONSTITUTION:In a method for producing a high-nitrile-based resin by carrying out graft emulsion polymerization of (A) 100 pts.wt. monomer mixture, containing at least 50wt.% unsaturated nitrile (e.g. acrylonitrile) and composed of one or more monomers (e.g. vinyl ether) copolymerizable with the unsaturated nitrile in the presence of (B) 1-40 pts.wt. diene synthetic rubber, a mixture of aluminum sulfate with magnesium sulfate as a coagulating agent is used to coagulate the polymer in the resultant polymer latex at pH 2-7 and the coagulated polymer is washed with water. In the process, the pH of the wash water is regulated to 4-7 with a basic substance. Thereby, the objective resin is obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a high nitrile resin excellent in moldability and transparency and reduced in the lowering of impact resistance and in the yellowing of the resin by using a strong acid Al salt as a coagulant for the obtained latex of the high nitrile resin and adjusting the pH of water when the coagulated resin is washed with the water. CONSTITUTION:(A) 100 pts.wt. of a monomer mixture comprising (i) >=50wt.% of an unsaturated nitrile and (ii) the balance of one or more kinds of monomers copolymerizable with the component (i) is subjected to an emulsion-graft- polymerization in the presence of (B) 1-40 pts.wt. of a dienic synthetic rubber and (C) a polymerization initiator, preferably a persulfate polymerization initiator. The obtained polymer latex having a pH of 2-7 is coagulated with a coagulant comprising a strong acid Al salt such as aluminum sulfate and subsequently washed with water having a pH of 4-7 (preferably 5-6) adjusted with a basic substance such as NaOH to obtain the objective resin.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a thermoplastic resin composition having improved thermal stability without deteriorating gas-barrierness, chemical resistance, impact resistance and fluidity by adding a specific phenolic antioxidant to a high-nitrile thermoplastic resin composition. CONSTITUTION:The objective high-nitrile thermoplastic resin composition causing little thermal discoloration in molding can be produced by compounding (A) a high-nitrile polymer composition consisting of a copolymer composed of >=50wt.% of an unsaturated nitrile (preferably acrylonitrile or methacrylo-nitrile), =50wt.% in the whole polymer with (B) 0.5-5wt.% of an alkyl phenol of formula (R1 to R3 are H or l-12C alkyl; at least one of the groups is 8-12C alkyl) (e.g. nonylphenol) and, as necessary, (C) other antioxidant.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To lighten a roller in weight and improve its anti-corrosive ability, rigidity and heat resistance by composing a roller of a thermosetting resin composition. CONSTITUTION:A resin roller for conveyor is composed of a thermosetting resin composition which is composed of about 20 to 100 parts in weight of antifriction powder, for instance carbon black or the like, and about 30 to 100 parts in weight of reinforcing fiber, for instance glass fiber and ceramic fiber or the like, for 100 parts in weight of thermosetting resin such as phenol resin, melamine resin or the like. In addition to that, a filler such as colloidal silica or glass powder, a lubricant such as stearic acid, coloring material, a plasticizer such as furfural, alkylphenol, and a flame retarder such as antimony oxide, chlorinated paraffin are combined as necessary. The thermosetting resin composition is molded into a roller shape by a compression molding method or the like. The above-mentioned formation can therefore lighten the roller in weight and improve its anti-corrosive ability, rigidity and heat resistance.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled polymer of outstanding moldability, suitable as a raw material for containers such as bottles, by graft polymerization, in the presence of a conjugated diene synthetic polymer, of a mixture of unsaturated nitrile and another monomer with a molecular weight regulator added to the system at a specified point. CONSTITUTION:First, in the presence of (A) 1-40pts.wt. of a conjugated diene synthetic rubber made from >=50wt.% of conjugated diene monomer and =50wt.% of unsaturated nitrile and the rest of a second monomer copolymerizable therewith is brought to graft polymerization in an aqueous medium. Thence, at a point of conversion of the above-mentioned monomer within the range 5-20%, the polymerizer is charged with (C) a molecular weight regulator (pref. limonene dimercaptan) to continue the polymerization, the obtaining the objective polymer. The above polymerization is pref. emulsion polymerization.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition of good balance between impact resistance and processability, by polymerization of a mixture of an unsaturated nitrile monomer and unsaturated carboxylic ester in a specified graft rate in the presence of a conjugated diene rubbery polymer. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be obtained by polymerization, in the presence of (A) 1-30pts.wt. of a conjugated diene rubbery polymer, of 100pts.wt. of a monomer mixture made up of (B) an unsaturated nitrile monomer [pref. (meth)acrylonitrile], (C) an unsaturated carboxylic ester (pref., ethyl acrylate) and (D) another monomer copolymerizable therewith in an aqueous medium so that the graft rate of said monomer mixture to the component A fall between 70% and 100%. The conjugated diene monomer constituting the component A is pref. 1,3-butadiene.
