Abstract:
An apparatus for reducing the profile of a bone fixation plate while, preventing backing out of screws is disclosed. The apparatus includes at least one section of relief and sections of engagement. The plate has at least two openings though which two screws can pass through bony tissue. As the screw is tightened, it will begin to lag the plate to the bone. When the screw head interferes with the plate at the interference point, there is a slight resistance that insertion forces can overcome. When the screw is advanced further, it snaps into the sliding fit area and is allowed to move freely. The forces that cause the screw to back out from the plate are preferably not strong enough to pass the screw head back past the interference section. It may be desirable to include a set screw to help prevent backout.
Abstract:
An investment method includes establishing an arrangement between an investor and a derivative counterparty in association with at least one portfolio having a plurality of investments. The method further includes setting at least one value for the portfolio including at least a minimum protection value; setting one or more interim settlement periods based on a maturity date of the arrangement including the portfolio; setting a cap level for the portfolio based on at least the minimum protection value of the portfolio; and, resetting at least one of the values or characteristics of the portfolio in association with performance of the portfolio during at least one of the interim settlement periods.

Abstract:
Characterization of an optical system is quickly and easily obtained in a single acquisition step by obtaining image data within a volume of image space. A reticle and image plane are positioned obliquely with respect to each other such that a reticle having a plurality of feature sets thereon, including periodic patterns or gratings, is imaged in a volume of space, including the depth of focus. Metrology tools are used to analyze the detected or recorded image in the volume of space through the depth of focus in a single step or exposure to determine the imaging characteristics of an optical system. Focus, field curvature, astigmatism, spherical, coma, and/or focal plane deviations can be determined. The present invention is particularly applicable to semiconductor manufacturing and photolithographic techniques used therein, and is able to quickly characterize an optical system in a single exposure with dramatically increased data quality and continuous coverage of the full parameter space. In embodiments, the test reticle is holographically generated by interfering two or more beams of optical radiation. The resulting interference pattern is recorded on a reticle and used for testing the optical system. The geometry of the holographic interference pattern is tightly controlled by the properties of the interfering beams and is therefore more accurate than conventional reticle writing techniques.
Abstract:
An integrated hydrostatic transaxle including a housing in which a center section is supported. The center section supports a hydraulic pump unit and a hydraulic motor unit having a motor shaft drivingly connected thereto. A differential assembly is drivingly linked to the motor shaft and is used to drive a pair of axle shafts which are supported by the housing. The differential assembly includes a rotatable gear which is maintained in frictional engagement with at least one bearing surfaces for frictionally inhibiting the rotational movement thereof.
Abstract:
A controlled traction cartridge for use in connection with a differential. The catridge generally comprises a shaft, a gear mounted on the shaft and rotatable with respect thereto, and an interior bearing surfaces associated with the shaft. The gear is maintained in frictional engagement with the interior bearing surface for inhibiting the rotation of the gear.
