Abstract: In an antenna, a first flat radiating element is placed longitudinally. A second flat radiating element is located opposite to the first flat radiating element. The first and the second radiating element are connected to each other at their lower end portions. A third flat radiating element is longitudinally located below the second flat radiating element. A central conductor of a coaxial cable is connected to the lower end portions of the first and the second flat radiating elements. An outer conductor of the coaxial cable is connected to an upper end portion of the third flat radiating element. The coaxial cable is located parallel to the third flat radiating element.

Abstract: A helical antenna comprising a cylindrical dielectric member 1, four spiral conductors 2a to 2d which are wound around the outer wall of the cylindrical dielectric member 1, four spiral conductors 3a to 3d which are attached to the inner wall of the cylindrical dielectric member 1, and power supply circuits 4, 5 for supplying high-frequency power to the spiral conductors 2a to 2d and the spiral conductors 3a to 3d respectively. That is, the spiral conductors serving as radiation elements are disposed at the outside and inside of the cylindrical dielectric member, and the outer and inner conductors are operated as independent helical antennas. These spiral conductors are connected to the power supply circuits for supplying the high-frequency power having desired amplitude and phase.

Abstract: In an antenna apparatus and the electronic toll collection (hereinafter, abbreviated to an ETC) system using it, an antenna apparatus (2) is provided in a space over a lane (3) through which an automobile (1) having ETC on-vehicle equipment (10) passes. An antenna which the antenna apparatus has radiates a radio wave having a radio beam emitted area (21) of a radio wave to communicate with the ETC on-vehicle equipment and, thereby, electronic toll collection is performed for the passing automobile. It is an object of the present invention to provide an antenna apparatus which is controllable so that the ETC on-vehicle equipment is in the center of the radio beam emitted area of the antenna apparatus, and also to provide an ETC system using it. The antenna apparatus integrates an antenna and a light emitting unit. The light emitting unit emits a visible light (31) to the radio beam emitted area for communicating with the ETC on-vehicle equipment 10 mounted on the automobile along the center line within the radio beam emitted area. A sensor (40) can detect the automobile and can determine an emitted period of the visible light.

Abstract: A patch antenna has: a driven patch fed with a high-frequency signal to radiate a high-frequency electromagnetic field from its one surface; a parasitic patch receives the high-frequency electromagnetic field from the driven patch at a first surface and reradiates the high-frequency electromagnetic field from a second surface; and a radome which positively holds the driven patch and the parasitic patch inside of the radome; wherein the parasitic patch is held by the inner surface of the radome which contacts the second surface of the parasitic patch and by a holder which protrudes from the inner surface of the radome and covers a part of the first surface of the parasitic patch.

Abstract: A lens antenna is disclosed which comprises a conical horn and a lens attached to an aperture of the horn. The lens has a first planar surface at a first side which faces free space and a hyperboloid of revolution at a second side opposite the first side and is made of a dielectric material with relative permittivity ranging from 2 to 4. The lens is provided with a cylindrical portion which has a second planar surface parallel to the first planar surface and displaced from the first planar surface by a predetermined distance. The cylindrical portion being concentric with the lens.
