    Abstract: In one embodiment, a vehicular monitoring and controlled response system includes a substance having a plurality of particles dispersed therein, the particles being tunable in response to an external stimulus; a sensor for measuring a disruption to a vehicle; and a computing device in communication with the sensor and the vehicle.     Abstract: A method for distracting an individual from a treatment event comprises providing a distraction tool; positioning the distraction tool at a contact location on an individual, the contact location being substantially adjacent a location of a treatment event; activating an oscillation device to induce vibrations in the distraction tool; and subsequently initiating the treatment event at the treatment event location. The distraction tool comprises a stimulation apparatus comprising a housing and a plurality of projections extending from the housing. The oscillation device is in communication with the distraction tool to induce vibrations specifically in the stimulation apparatus. Activating the oscillation device to induce vibrations causes the plurality of projections to oscillate against the individual at the contact location, thereby shifting attention from the treatment event to the vibrations, wherein the shift in attention causes the individual to discount pain caused by the treatment event.

    Abstract: The present disclosure includes roof shingle systems. One roof shingle system includes at least two shingles, a shingle clip, a drip edge, and a power collection unit. Each shingle has a semiconductive layer configured to deliver power, electrical current/voltage, and/or control signals to the power collection unit. The shingle clip continues a conductive path between the two shingles. The drip edge is at least partially insulated and partially conductive, and the conductive portion continues the path from the shingle semiconductive layer to the power unit where energy is collected. One method of installing a shingle system includes the steps of positioning a shingle having a transducer in the form of a semiconductive layer, and positioning a shingle clip to engage the semiconductive layer of the shingle.

    Abstract: A display system includes a watch having a watch face; and an intelligent display system. The display system includes a display panel, a selectively opaque panel, a memory having programming instructions, and a controller in communication with the display panel and the selectively opaque panel, and the memory. The display system is operable in each of: (a) display mode wherein the display panel is actuated by the controller to display image content, and at least a portion of the selectively opaque panel is opaque; (b) a transparent mode wherein the display panel does not display image content, the selectively opaque panel is substantially transparent, and the watch face is substantially visible; and (c) an augmented reality mode wherein the display panel is actuated by the controller to display image content, and the selectively opaque panel is substantially transparent, the watch face being substantially visible behind the display system.

    Abstract: A damping system includes a component for a structure. The component has a first panel with an outer perimeter, a first adhesive disposed about the outer perimeter, a second adhesive disposed along the outer perimeter inward of the first adhesive, and a second panel adhered to the first panel via the first and second adhesives.     Abstract: An apparatus for receiving a package delivered by an unmanned aerial vehicle comprises a collapsible package receiver adapted to be movably coupled to a building. The collapsible package receiver is configured to be placed from a collapsed position to a pop-out position to receive the package from the unmanned aerial vehicle. The apparatus has a memory associated with the package receiver which stores computer-readable instructions.     Abstract: The present disclosure includes wearable light emitting device display systems and methods. The wearable light emitting device includes: memory or a database that stores image and moving image files, a fabric with a multitude of light emitting devices defining a display, and a controller. The system can operate under several display modes: a static module displays at least one static image; a dynamic module displays at least a moving image or a moving pattern; a situational module displays a situational image or pattern upon occurrence of a predetermined event; a geographical module displays a geographic specific image or pattern; a motion module displays a motion specific image or pattern that displays only when the display is in motion. The system may further include a camera and a real time module that displays real time images captured from the camera.
