Abstract: An approach is provided for enabling gesture-based interaction with devices and transferring of contents. A device may process and/or facilitate a processing of one or more interactions with at least one first device to cause, at least in part, a selection of at least one content item, one or more information items associated with the at least one content item, or a combination thereof associated with the at least one first device. The device may further process and/or facilitate a processing of the one or more interactions, one or more other interactions with at least one second device, or a combination thereof to cause, at least in part, a selection of the at least one second device. Additionally, the device may cause, at least in part, a transfer of the at least one content item, the one or more information items associated with the at least one content item, or a combination thereof to the at least one second device.
