Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that it is not recognized that a viewing time limit is exceeded unless an operation is performed on a GUI screen for displaying the list of content data, in a terminal which downloads the content data with the viewing time limit through a network.SOLUTION: A recording and reproducing device includes: a viewing time limit lapse determination part 107 for determining whether or not the viewing time limit of the stored content data is exceeded; and a content list generation and display part 106 for generating and displaying a content list in which two or more pieces of content explanation information included in content information for the respective content data are arranged so as to make a user select the content data. The content list generation and display part makes the viewing time limit lapse determination part 107 determine that whether or not the viewing time limit of the respective content data is exceeded, when displaying the content list, and does not display the content explanation information for the content data whose viewing time limit is exceeded.
