Abstract:
A belt system for controlling the speed of advance of line-holepunched copy forms wherein upper and lower belts are arranged on opposite sides of the punched web, the lower belt having pins projecting through the line holes into registering openings in the upper belt. The belts are arranged on pulleys so that the upper run of the lower belt slopes away from the web before reversal. It is a continuation of Ser. No. 726,788, filed May 6, 1968, and now abandoned, and is a continuation in part of my copending application Ser. No. 566,609, filed July 20, 1966, and now abandoned.
Abstract:
A log storage unit for elongated rolls of web material wherein logs are horizontally displaced from a saw in-feed conveyor onto a conveyor traveling in a horizontal path, and when the horizontal path conveyor has accumulated a predetermined number of logs, the logs as a group are elevated along a second and vertical path.
Abstract:
A ply-bonded, embossed product and apparatus, and method wherein at least two nested-embossed webs are advanced between a pair of wheels and anvil surfaces to subject the webs to ply-bonding compressive forces.
Abstract:
Apparatus is disclosed for applying adhesive seams to high speed webs for securing them together. An even coating of the adhesive, heated, if necessary is applied to a rotating gravure roll; and one web is fed in partial wrapping engagement about a rotating plate cylinder having a raised transfer bar fixed to its periphery. As the rolls rotate, the transfer bar engages the traveling web and elevates it above the surface of the plate cylinder and into contact with the gravure roll to deposit a seam of adhesive to the outer convex surface of the web according to the pattern defined by the transfer bar. The two webs are then pressed together and secured by the adhesive. Adhesive seams may also be applied to both webs, if desired, with the applied seams being in register with each other, then presses together.
Abstract:
Unit-handling apparatus for ''''unit sets'''' which are multiple-web packets useful in computer technology wherein separator fingers, elevator fingers and pushers all cooperate in assembling the unit sets into precise stacks both dimensionally and as to number.
Abstract:
A machine for forming articles of fluffed cellulosic material includes a drum having first and second sections mounted coaxially for rotation and spaced apart to provide a chamber through which the fluff moves radially. An air-pervious web travels with the drum sections and covers the periphery of the chamber for receiving shredded cellulosic material which enters each of the drum sections axially and is forced against opposite sides of a baffle plate mounted between and rotating with the drum sections. The baffle plate is in the general shape of oppositely extending cones, the apexes of which divert the inflow of shredded material radially outward. A plurality of sets of tabs spaced about the baffle plate with each set at a different radial distance cause an even distribution of the fluff material against the travelling web. The drum sections are adapted for adjustable spacing; and the machine thus has the capacity of making articles of substantially larger width than heretofore has been feasible.
Abstract:
Folding apparatus for V-interfolded towels and the like in which transfer of severed webs is made directly from the cutoff bedroll to the gripper and tucker-equipped folding rolls, the tuckers being equipped with vacuum-actuated tips and the grippers being housed within the folding rolls to provide pockets for the accommodation of slack webbing.
