Abstract:
The present invention relates to an automatic sensor position recognition system comprising: a position recognition unit (1) located at pre-determined positions on a person's body and bearing a unique identification; - a sensor (2) bearing a unique identification; a communication unit (3) assigned to the sensor and being in communication with the position recognition unit (1) and the sensor (2); a data processing unit (4) in communication with the communication unit; and a database (5) being in communication with the data processing system (4) and comprising the correlation of the unique identification of the position recognition unit (1) and the pre-determined position of the position recognition unit (1). The system according to the invention provides an automatic association between sensors and body segments as well as means to obtain these associations. As a result, no human interaction is required any more to assign a body segment to a sensor. Thus, assignment errors can be prevented and the patient is not burdened any more with attaching a particular sensor to a specific body segment and can concentrate more on the exercises he is supposed to undertake.
Abstract:
A sensor arrangement for home rehabilitation in particular after a stroke comprising at least two sensors. The sensors are attached to the user´s body. Each sensor includes - a receiver for receiving a first signal being generated from a source outside the sensor 10 arrangement - a sensor processing unit processing the first signal and initializing a second signal upon reception of the first signal, the second signal including information regarding the identity of the sensor - a transmitter for transmitting the second signal to a central processing unit. 15 On receipt of the first and/or the second signal a time stamp is generated for each sensor for a determination of the location of each sensor relative to a source of the first signal trough comparison of the different time stamps.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns a switchable joint constraint system comprising at least one motion sensor, a joint constraint which is switchable between a mobile and an immobile state, a signal processing unit and a database. Motion sensor signals are compared to predefined situations. The joint constraint is switched according to whether predefined situations are met. The present invention furthermore concerns a process for handling sensor signals in such a system. The system may be used to support a constraint induced therapy (CIT) for the treatment of e. g. hemiplegy.
Abstract:
An assistance system for visually handicapped persons with visual impair in a part of their visual field aims at providing a technical solution for these persons, informing them actively about objects or movements in the visually impaired side, by way of body-worn sensors.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a health management system comprising a body or limb movement detecting means for detecting the movements and position of a users body or limb (s) in 3D space, a movement analyzing means for analyzing the data of the measurement carried out by the body or limb movement detecting means, wherein the body or limb movement detecting means comprises at least three sensors or markers for tracking a user's body or limb movement in 3D space by measuring an angle embedded by two body parts of the user which are connected to each other by a joint being the apex of the angle to be measured, at which one of the sensors or markers is provided. To detect the offset a change in distance between two neighboring sensors or markers indicates an offset of the sensor at the joint spaced apart from the apex.
