Abstract: There is provided a mobile robot that performs the obstacle avoidance, positioning and object recognition according to image frames captured by the same optical sensor. The mobile robot includes an optical sensor, a light emitting diode, a laser diode and a processor. The processor identifies an obstacle and a distance thereof according to image frames captured by the optical sensor when the laser diode is emitting light. The processor further performs the positioning and object recognition according to image frames captured by the optical sensor when the light emitting diode is emitting light.

Abstract: An optical system and a method for eliminating misjudgment of reflective lights are provided. The method includes: emitting a detection light by a light source; receiving reflective light signals by a light sensor; and configuring a processing circuit to: generate a characteristic pattern according to the reflective light signals received by the light sensor; analyze the characteristic pattern and determine whether or not the characteristic pattern includes a plurality of sub-patterns; in response to determining that the characteristic pattern includes the plurality of sub-patterns, compare positions of the sub-patterns with a reference position of a reference pattern; and select the sub-pattern having the position that is closest to the reference position to determine whether an object possesses and eliminate misjudgment caused by the reflective lights.

Abstract: An optical sensing system is provided. The optical sensing system includes a first light source, a second light source, a light sensor, and a processor. The processor is configured to: control the first light source to scan a horizontal detection area; control the light sensor to capture a first frame by receiving first reflective lights from the horizontal detection area; obtain a first reflection pattern, and analyze the first reflection pattern to determine whether an object is within the first portion; if so, control the second light source to scan a first vertical detection area; control the light sensor to capture a second frame from the first vertical detection area; process the second frame to obtain a second reflection pattern, and analyze the second reflection pattern to determine whether the object is detected by a misjudgment.

Abstract: A method for eliminating misjudgment of a reflective light is provided. A light source emits a transverse linear light toward a direction of a floor as detection light and the light sensor senses reflective light signals from an object that reflects the detection light. In the method, a frame image including the reflective light signals is captured by the light sensor, centers of gravity of the reflective light signals are analyzed, and the centers of gravity of the reflective light signals can be corrected based on a line of gravity or a center of gravity of previous reflective light signals stored in a memory of the autonomous robot in order to exclude a center of gravity generated by the reflective light signal from a wall. A distance of the object can be confirmed based on the corrected centers of gravity of reflective light signals.

Abstract: A portable electronic device and an operation method are provided. The portable electronic device includes a body, a screen, a camera, an image sensor and a main system. The image sensor continually captures a first image outside the body with a first resolution and a first power consumption. The camera is turned on in the first state of the portable electronic device by the main system to capture a second image outside the body with a second power consumption and a second resolution only when the face image information appeared for over two seconds on the screen is detected by the image sensor from the first image. The second resolution is higher than the first resolution, and the second power consumption is higher than the first power consumption.

Abstract: There is provided an electronic device capable of improving the difficulty of breaking a digital electronic lock and the accuracy of gesture control. The electronic device is unlocked according to gestures of a single hand or two hands, an operation hand, a gesture position, a staying time of gesture and a gesture variation of a user. The electronic device further improves the accuracy of gesture control in conjunction with an accessory pattern, temperature sensing and space information of a wearable device.
