Abstract:
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a transmitter may detect at least one distance between the transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter may transmit, to the receiver, information using a selected band of a wide band or a narrow band, where the selected band is based at least in part on the at least one distance. Similarly, in some aspects, a receiver may detect at least one distance between the receiver and a transmitter. The receiver may receive, from the transmitter, information using a selected band of a wide band or a narrow band, where the selected band is based at least in part on the at least one distance. Numerous other aspects are described.
Abstract:
Devices and methods for wireless communication are disclosed. A method includes a wireless station receiving a first packet that includes a first media payload and a first media timestamp from a second device. The method includes the station capturing a time of arrival (TO A) timestamp in response to receiving the first packet from the second device. The TOA timestamp is sampled using a device clock of the station. The method includes the station receiving a second packet that includes a second media payload and a second media timestamp from the second device. A time of departure (TOD) timestamp associated with a transmission time of the first packet is embedded in the second packet. The TOD timestamp is sampled using a system clock of the second device. The method includes the station synchronizing its device clock to the system clock of the second device based on the TOA and TOD timestamps..
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatus for polling for data by a wireless device. Certain aspects of the present disclosure providing a method performed by the wireless device. The method generally includes receiving a polling frame from at least one wireless device. The polling frame can include an indication of a service period during which the access point may deliver multiple protocol data units (PDUs) to the wireless device in response to the polling frame. The indication of the service period is provided as a value relative to a local clock synchronized between the wireless device and the access point. The method generally also includes transmitting the multiple PDUs to the wireless device during the service period, in response to the polling frame. The access point can receive the polling frame and transmit the multiple PDUs during the service period, in response to the polling frame.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for broadcasting short interframe space information to aid in determining a round trip time are provided. The round trip time is used as an aid in locating nodes within a WiFi or WLAN network. The method begins with capturing a time of transmission of a frame by a transmitting station. The receiving station then captures the time of arrival of the frame just sent by the transmitting station. The receiving station replies with a received frame message and the time of departure is captured. The transmitting station then captures the time of arrival of the received frame message. The captured arrival and departure times of the frame and the received frame message allow the round trip time to be computed. The RTT may then be included as part of a network message.
Abstract:
Aspects relate to signaling the parameters to be used for a communication schedule such as a target wake time (TWT) schedule. For example, a first wireless communication device (e.g., an access point or a peer station) may determine (e.g., specify or negotiate) the parameters for at least one TWT schedule and transmit a broadcast management frame (e.g., a beacon) that includes these parameters. A second wireless communication device (e.g., station) that receives the broadcast management frame may, based on the received parameters for one TWT schedule or the received parameters for multiple TWT schedules, elect to transmit during a transmission opportunity (TXOP) that is defined to not cross at least one boundary of a period of time indicated by the parameters.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are techniques for range measurement between one or more wireless stations (STAs) and a first access point (AP). In various embodiments, the first AP may synchronize a clock of the first AP with clocks of one or more synchronized APs. The first AP may perform a synchronization session with the one or more STAs. The first AP may also transmit one or more Broadcast time-of-departure (TOD) frames to the one or more STAs. Each of the one or more Broadcast TOD frames may include a time of departure of a Broadcast TOD frame from the first AP. A second AP and a third AP of the one or more synchronized APs may also transmit one or more Broadcast TOD frames to the one or more STAs for range and/or position determination.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a pre-fetching architecture and scheduler for multi-station APs. An example method generally includes fetching, from a plurality of host buffers, descriptive information for a set of packets based, at least in part, on an amount of descriptive information already cached for transmission to one or more target devices; using the fetched descriptive information to obtain the set of packets; and transmitting the set of packets to the one or more target devices.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for dynamically adapting channel access or transmission parameters based upon an identified channel access parameter or previously used transmission parameter are disclosed. In an aspect, an electronic device for communication over a wireless network is disclosed. The electronic device comprises a processor configured to generate a message that identifies one rule of a plurality of rules. Each of the plurality of rules defines a process for adapting a value of a communication parameter based on an identified channel access parameter. Also, each of the plurality of rules provides a particular quality of service and a particular priority for communication with the electronic device. The electronic device further comprises a transceiver configured to transmit the message to a station.
