Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out measurements at a short sampling interval with a low cost by using a DC brushless motor at a beam separation part or a beam coupling part. SOLUTION: The DC brushless motor can change the number of revolution in accordance with the maximal frequency of measured signals with ease and besides since the motor itself has no brush, almost no noise arises. When a sector mirror 1 does not screen incident light, the incident light propagates through a sample as a sample side light beam and reaches to detector 9. When the sector mirror 1 is rotated to screen the incident light, the light reaches the detector 9 as a reference side light beam. Since an output signal from the detector 9 is a superposition of signals of the sample side light beam 15 and the reference side light beam 16 in a time sharing manner, if a switch 11 is properly changed over in synchronization with a signal of a photointerruptor 10, signals, which indicates intensities of the sample side light beam and reference side light beam can respectively be read from a sample side amplifier 12 and the reference side amplifier 13.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a spectro photometer which meets the requirements of user at a low cost with a short measuring time. CONSTITUTION: Sensors 7, 8 are furnished on a sample side light path and an object side light path, and amplifiers 9, 10 are installed before the sample side signal and object side signal from these sensors 7, 8 are inputted to an A/D converter 12, and a means 13 is provided to set proper rates of amplification for the sample side signal and object side signal. As the rates of amplification, 1 and G to meet the following formula are selected; (r/2 ) , where (r) is target resolution on the sample side or the object side photo-measuring value and 2 is resolution of A/D converter. In case where the rate is 1, the output level of the sensor should be within the input level of the A/D converter 12.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate an absorbance with high precision at both background correction measurement and non-correction measurement, related to an atomic absorption photometer. SOLUTION: A pulse lighting pattern of light sources (HCL and D2L) and the sampling timing of an optical reception signal are changed depending on whether background correction is performed or not. At background correction measurement, one cycle is divided into three: an HCL lighting period, a D2L lighting period, and a non-lighting period are provided (see (a) and (b)). At background non-correction measurement, one cycle is divided into two: an HCL lighting period, and a non-lighting period are provided (see (c) and (d)). Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spectrophotometer that is inexpensive and is capable of control with improved reproducibility without false detection of an original point of a slit disk. SOLUTION: Firstly, a signal for starting detecting an original point is sent by operating a control panel. A stepping motor 15 operates a slit disk 17 in a forward direction speedily. A photo interrupter 16 covering the slit disk 17 roughly detects the original point detection position 18 (notch). It rotates the slit disk 17 for several pulses in a forward direction within the width of the original point detection position 18 (notch) after the rough detection. Then, it rotates the slit disk 17 in a backward direction slowly and then minutely detects the original point detection position 18 (notch). It rotates the slit disk 17 in a forward direction slowly after minutely detecting the original point detection position 18 (notch). When the original point detection position 18 (notch) is minutely detected, the stepping motor 15 stops and the slit disk 17 stops at the original point accurately and securely.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the safety using an inexpensive and compact control device by providing a monitoring IC circuit to monitor the action of a microprocessor, and resetting the microprocessor as necessary. SOLUTION: A microprocessor 1 controls a solenoid valve 11 for combustion gas and a solenoid valve 12 for supporting gas to burn the mixture gas by a burner 15 using a program which is stored in advance in a storage device 3. The processor 1 continuously generates the signal at the prescribed period during the normal operation of the processor 1 in parallel to the control. A microprocessor monitoring IC 2 is connected to the processor 1. When the processor 1 runs away out of control, the signal at the prescribed period from the processor 1 is not transmitted. The absence of transmission is detected by the IC 2, and when the IC recognizes that the runaway condition lasts over the set time, the processor 1 is reset. A dangerous condition is automatically and rapidly avoided thereby.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To correctly identify a substance by sampling light measuring signals with timing interlocked with a shutter which opens/closes excitation light with predetermined intervals and measuring elapsed time while fluorescence and phosphorescence of a sample having unknown characteristics are clearly distinguished from each other. CONSTITUTION:A shutter 2 provided on a light path of excitation light is opened/closed with predetermined intervals to intermittently apply the excitation light to a sample. A switching element 7 provided on an output circuit of a detector 6 is turned ON only for a predetermined time synchronously with opening of the shutter 2, and outputs only for the period are taken out and subjected to signal processing. By setting time the element 7 is ON shorter than time phosphorescence generation time, that is, time the phosphorescence is strong, fluorescence intensity can be measured with little influence of the phosphorescence. In addition after a constant time delay after the shutter 2 is closed and the excitation light is cut, the element 7 is again turned ON for short time. By setting the time at disappearance time of the fluorescence or longer, only phosphorescence at a specific phase can be measured completely separately from the fluorescence.
