Abstract: PURPOSE:To measure reflectance optionally on a surface, a center, or a rear face of a sample by providing a sample moving mechanism vertically on a surface to be measured of a sample. CONSTITUTION:A position L is a position for inspecting a sample surface C, wherein in measuring reflectance of a medium surface F of a sample S comprising a laminate of two kinds of materials for example, the sample surface C needs to be advanced by a distance (d) from the position L in order to have reflection from the surface F onto a correct measurement light path. Thus the sample S is held on a vertically slidable mount 7 on the surface to be measured, moved by a required amount by a feed screw 8 and a micrometer 9 is used to read its position. Thus reflectance can be measured on an interface or on a rear face other than the surface.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To hardly change the utilizing efficiency of light by forming an entrance and an exit slits in such configuration that the slit width is gradually reduced to both ends at right angles to dispersion direction of the light of a spectroscope. CONSTITUTION:When a monochromatic light is brought into a spectroscope for wavelength scanning, an image of an entrance slit formed by the monochromatic light is moved in the wavelength dispersion direction on the surface where an exit slit is provided. The quantity of light projected from the sepectroscope at this time is proportional to the area where the image of the entrance slit is overlapped with the exit slit. Therefore, the area is gradually increased from when the image of the entrance slit is started to be overlapped with the exit slit to when it is completely overlapped with the latter. This increase of the area shows a parabolic form if the slit is in the shape of a rhombus. After the image is perfectly overlapped, the quantity of light is gradually decreased in the same form or manner as when the quantity of light is increased. Since the slit is a rhombus, the level of the stray light is reduced to 3/4 of a rectangular slit and the slit width is 1.5 times larger. Therefore, the utilizing efficiency of light when a sample is minute is increased.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To facilitate data processing by storing an arbitrary formula y = f (x1, x2,...xn) in a data processing part when measured data are x1, x2,...xn, substituting the measured data into the formula, and performing operation. CONSTITUTION:When measured data are x1, x2,...xn, an arbitray formula y = f (x1, x2,...xn) is inputted through a keyboard K of a data processing part 2. The inputted formula is stored in a formula memory CM. The measured data which are picked up with a spectrophotometer measuring part 1 are stored in a data memory DM and made to substitute into the formula in the memory CM. Operation is performed, and the result of the data processing is printed out from a printer P. Since the contents of the data processing are made to be the formula and inputted as the formula which is expressed in the normal pattern in this way, the setting of the contents of the data processing becomes easy, and the erroneous setting is eliminated.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To drive a diffraction lattice by a sign bar mechanism, by shifting the zero order light emitting position of a sign bar driver from the parallel position of the surface of the driver and a sign bar. CONSTITUTION:A diffraction lattice G is fixed to the end of a lever A revolving around a point C and the space from the center C of rotation of the lever A to the sphere in the direction opposite to the lattice G is a sign bar and the distance thereof is set to R. A solid line position is the position of the sign bar at the time of the emission of zero-order light and the sign bar is set at the position shifted from the position parallel to the surface of a driver S by a distance E. When the wavelength of the emitted light when the driver S is moved to the right by a distance X from said position is set to lambda and the angle of rotation of the sign bar is determined as shown by a drawing, X=Rsintheta+Rsinphi is formed, and the wavelength lambda and the dis tance X take linear relation and, therefore, in an usual sign bar, the position of theta=0 is a zero-order light emitting position and the wavelength lambda is proportional to Rsintheta. In this example, the correction term of Rsinphi is applied to Rsintheta with respect to the wavelength and the shift between the moving distance of the driver S and the wavelength is corrected on the basis of the correction term and the driving of the lattice G by sign bar function becomes possible.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a position detecting means for a microswitch, photoelectric switch and the like and an associated wiring, by detecting the position of a rotary disc equipped with filters for cutting high-order diffraction light utilizing a mark provided on the rotary disc and a photometer of a spectrophotometer. CONSTITUTION:A slit SL is provided on a projection 8 of a rotary disc 3 equipped with filters F1, F2... to cut high-order diffraction light. The wavelength from adiffraction grating G is fixed at a proper value and the light of a light source 1 passing through the diffraction grating G, a slit S2, the rotary disc 3 and a reference cell REF is detected with a photometer 1 driving the rotary disc 3 with a pulse motor M2 while a reference side voltage is read into a CPU 4 to be memorized into an RAM 6. The point of making slits SL and S2 coincide is detected to define the positions of filters F1, F2... with the point as origin.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To uniformize the sample temperature with an inexpensive equipment, by applying forward and backward driving signals to a driving mechanism in alternately at a short cycle to swing a plurality of samples longitudinally to agitate. CONSTITUTION:A pulse motor 3 for driving a sample cell holder 1 is controlled in the forward and reverse rotation thereof and the stoppage by a signal from a drive controlling circuit C. Then, the holder 1 perform a horizontal reciprocation in the periods A, D, G and J during which positive and negative signals are changed from one to the other and a measurement is done during the stoppage periods B, E, H and K. In the periods C, F and I following these, the pulse motor 3 rotates forward to transfer the holder 1 by one space to the right. In the final period L, the motor 3 reverses to return the holder 1 to the original position and thus, a set of four measuring operations are completed. Here, in the periods A,D, G and J during which the holder 1 reciprocates, samples are agitated internally with the shaking thereof thereby enabling the uniformization of the temperature distribution in a sample cell.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a spectral transmissivity measuring device by means of the two-light-flux method of a color separation prism. CONSTITUTION:A photometry means I is installed at a place where a light beam S incident on a specimen does not enter the means I when the beam is directed to go straight, and two movable mirrors 9, 10 are arranged between the specimen and the photometry means. The position of the mirror 9 and the direction of the mirror 10 are altered so that the beams of light in the respective cases are directed to the photometry means I according to four measuments, 100% transmission photometry without the specimen and three-color transmission photometry. Since the mirrors 9, 10 are also used at the time of 100% transmission photometry and the three-colors transmission photometry, the influence of the mirrors 9, 10 is offset and absolute transmissivity can be found when the transmissivity is calculated.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a measuring apparatus with high utilizing efficiency of light which can measure the true transmittance of an optical fiber by so adapting a condensing lens as to take two positions at the side closer to a light source and at the side closer to an incidence window of a light measuring part on an optical path of a projecting light of a spectroscope. CONSTITUTION:In a sample chamber 2 for measuring an optical fiber, a luminous Fs of a sample sent from a sample chamber C is reflected by a concave mirror M3 towards an incidence window W1 of an integrating sphere I. Similarly, a contact luminous flux Fr is condensed by mirrors M5, M6 to the other incidence window W2 of the integrating sphere I. The mirror M3 is spaced considerably from the integrating sphere I. Therefore, a condensing lens 3 can take two positions A and B on an optical path from the mirror M3 to the incident window W1 of the integrating sphere I. Accordingly, the whole of the luminous flux generated from a spectroscope can be condensed and introduced into the optical fiber and the light output from the optical fiber can be totally guided into a projecting opening of a photodetecting part. Therefore, the luminous flux related to the measurement is made the same between when 100% transmittance is measured and when the sample is measured.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To record the time of an optional point in accordance with measuring circumstances by providing a means for inputting the command of a marker and putting the marker at a position corresponding to the point of time when the command of the marker for the time change curve of a photometric value is inputted. CONSTITUTION:When measurement is started, data is incorporated in an MPU 3 from an A/D converter 2. The MPU 3 arithmetically operates absorbance, for example, from the incorporated data. The obtained absorbance is plotted at a position corresponding to an elapsed time and the time change curve of the absorbance is displayed or recorded. When a marker key 6 is depressed, the time when the marker key 6 is depressed is stored in a RAM 5 and the marker is put near the corresponding point on the time change curve. The marker key 6 is depressed according to the judgement of a measurer, for example, when a sample is admixed with reagent or the temperature of the sample is changed. After completing the measurement, the time when the marker is put is known by reading the marker displayed on a display unit 7 or recorded in a recorder 8.
