Abstract: A pump unit includes a pump and a metal ion trap. The pump includes a metal member that comes into contact with a mobile phase. The pump pumps a mobile phase through a flow path. The metal ion trap includes a filter element. The filter element includes a metal ion retention structure for retaining metal ions by interacting with the metal ions included in a mobile phase. The filter element is provided in the flow path for a mobile phase pumped by the pump. The pump unit may be provided in a chromatograph.

Abstract: A liquid sending failure detector acquires periodically a liquid sending pressure of a liquid sending mechanism consecutively sends liquid using at least one plunger pump that sends liquid by reciprocally driving a plunger such that a fluctuation is read in one driving period of the liquid sending mechanism, and detect a liquid sending failure of the liquid sending mechanism using an acquired liquid sending pressure. The liquid sending failure detector executes a pulsation detection step of obtaining a fluctuation range of the liquid sending pressure in a certain driving period of the liquid sending mechanism and detecting pulsation on a condition that a count of consecutive periods in which the fluctuation range exceeds a predetermined reference value exceeds a predetermined reference count, and a liquid sending failure detection step of detecting a liquid sending failure of the liquid sending mechanism when the pulsation is detected in the pulsation detection step.

Abstract: A resin tube is prepared. Further, a formation tool having a pressing surface and a projection that projects from the pressing surface and is insertable into the resin tube is prepared. The projection of the formation tool is inserted from an end of the resin tube into the resin tube. The pressing surface of the formation tool is pressed against an end surface of the resin tube. Thermal energy is applied to the end of the resin tube, whereby a shape of the pressing surface of the formation tool is transferred to the end surface of the resin tube, and the end of the resin tube is formed into a flange shape.

Abstract: A check valve is provided with a rectilinear flow passage having a liquid inlet and a liquid outlet and allowing a liquid to flow therethrough in one direction, and a first valve body, a first valve seat, a second valve body, and a second valve seat are provided in the rectilinear flow passage. A first drive body is provided in the rectilinear flow passage at a position closer to the liquid inlet than the first valve body so as to be movable in one direction. The first drive body is driven in one direction by the drive mechanism. The drive mechanism is adapted to set the first drive body either to an open state in which the first drive body presses the first valve body toward the liquid outlet side to detach the first valve body from the first valve seat or to a closure state in which the first drive body does not press the first valve body toward the liquid outlet but allows the first valve body to be seated on the first valve seat. A second drive body is provided in the rectilinear flow passage at a position between the first valve body and the second valve body so as to be movable in one direction. When the first drive is set to the open state, the second drive body is pressed by the first valve body toward the liquid outlet to press the second valve body toward the liquid outlet, thereby detaching the second valve body from the second valve seat, and when the first drive body is set to the closure state, the second drive body is moved away from the second valve body to allow the second valve body to be seated on the second valve seat.
