CONSTITUTION:At the floppy disk device having a gimbals with a head chip 22 on the tip part of a head arm 7 and with the base part of the head arm attached to a carriage 14 via a spring plate 13, a dumping material 18 made of an elastic material is provided between the spring plate and the carriage. Also, rib materials 19 and 25 are projectingly provided along the longitudinal direction of the head arm on both upper and lower surfaces of the head arm. Further, a dumper 28 made of an elastic material is attached to both surfaces of the gimbals.
