    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a tape cassette which reduces consumed power for driving of a tape and has good recording/reproducing characteristics, by forming a pressure pad which follows a magnetic head well and shows a small slide resistance to the magnetic tape. SOLUTION: Zigzag parts 42b1 , 42c1 are formed to be point symetric at leaf spring parts 42b, 42c extending to both lateral directions from a pad felt- fitting face part 42a of a leaf spring 42 supporting a pad felt 41 of a pressure pad member 36, thereby to constitute narrow parts 42b2 , 42c2 of a required angle to a longitudinal main axis 1 of the leaf spring parts 42b, 42c. Because of this, a spring constant of the leaf spring 42 is decreased and, the pad felt- fitting face part 42a can be rotationally deformed and consequently follows a magnetic head well. The obtained pressure pad member shows a small slide resistance to a magnetic tape.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent an outside resin layer which is formed on an inside resin layer by injection molding from being warped in a cassette half in double-layer structure. CONSTITUTION:Cassette halves 2 and 3 are constituted of an inside resin layer 4 and an outside resin layer 5 which is subjected to injection molding by superposing it on the outside surface of the inside resin layer 4. The above outside resin layer 5 is provided with a thin-wall part 6 which is overlapped on the inside resin layer 4 and a thick-wall part 7 continuing to the thin-wall part 6. A gradual thickness-increasing thick-wall part 8 which increases its thickness gradually from the thin-wall part 6 toward the thick-wall part 7 is provided in the boundary part between the thin-wall part 6 and the thick-wall part 7 of the above outside rein layer 5.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To simply and easily form the tape cassette and to prevent the dislodgment of a window part by inserting a resin layer having a low modulus of elasticity between resin layers on both sides and integrating the intermediate layer and the window part for the remaining amt. of a tape with a transparent resin. CONSTITUTION:The upper and lower cassette halves 2, 3 are formed of a resin material 7 having a three-layered structure consisting of the resin layers 4, 5, 6. The intermediate resin layer 5 and the window part 8 for visually checking the remaining amt. of the tape are integrally formed of the transparent resin. The resin layers 4, 6 are formed of ABS and the resin layer 5 is formed of an elastomer having the lower modulus of elasticity than the modulus of elasticity of the resin layers 4, 6. The resin layer 5 is then so coated as to hold the resin layer 5 with the resin layers 4, 6 exclusive of the parts for the window part 8 for visually checking the residual amt. of the tape, by which the cassette halves 2, 3 are formed. A window frame 9 is templated in the resin layer 4 and a transparent thermoplastic resin is packed within the window frame 9, by which the window part 8 is formed integrally with the resin layer 5. The problems, such as peeling of the resin layer 5 and dislodgment of the window part 8, are then eliminated and since there is no need for considering the compatibility between the resin layers and, therefore, the range for selecting the resins is widened.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the mounting stability to a tape recorder and vibration absorbability by forming cassette halves of a high-elastic modulus member and disposing sheet-like members consisting of a low member on the inside surfaces. CONSTITUTION:For example, the lower cassette 1 is formed of the high-elastic modulus member and the sheet-like member 3 consisting of the low-elastic modulus member is disposed over the entire area of the inside surface inclusive of a part 4 to be disposed with a guide block. The same holds of the upper cassette. The parts of the tape cassette where the cassette comes into contact with the cassette mounting part of the tape recorder are hardly deformable and are enhanced in the mounting stability. The vibration absorbability is simultaneously enhanced by the sheet member. Recording and reproducing accuracy are thus improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the low vibration performance, running performance and durability of a magnetic tape cassette, by using a multi-layer structure containing an outer layer made of a material of high rigidity and an inner layer made of a vibration absorbing material of low resonance sharpness. CONSTITUTION:An outer layer 1 of a shell uses a material of high rigidity to secure mechanical strength and an inner layer 2 uses a vibration absorbing material of low resonance sharpness to absorb or attenuate the vibration transmitted from the outside of a magnetic tape cassette. Thus the undesired vibrations of a motor, an incorporated speaker, etc., are absorbed by said vibration absorbing material of low resonance sharpness. Then the mechanical strength is secured by a material of high rigidity of the layer 1. Thus the desired low vibration performance, running performance, durability, etc., are satisfied for a magnetic tape cassette.

SOLUTION: This tape cassette has a hub 6 for winding a tape in a cassette body, and further has an inner wheel 21, an outer wheel 25, an intermediate gear 28 and a tape winding speed switching mechanism. The inner wheel 21 has a gear part 24 on the outer periphery, and a tape is wound on an outer peripheral face of the outer wheel 25 and an inner periphery thereof has a gear part 27, and the intermediate gears 28 (28a, 28b) are disposed between the inner wheel 21 and the outer wheel 25, and transmits from the inner wheel 21 to the outer wheel 25. The tape winding speed switching mechanism is provided between the hub 6 and the cassette body, and when the tape is wound at normal speed, the intermediate 28 is fixed to the inner wheel 21 and the outer wheel 25, which are integerally rotated. Further, when the tape is wound at a slow speed, the intermediate 28 is made rotatable to rotate the outer wheel 25 in deceleration for the inner wheel 21.
