[Object] To provide an information processing apparatus, an input apparatus, an information processing system, an information processing method, and a program that are capable of improving operability when a target object is selected on a screen. [Solving Means] Provided is a control apparatus (40) to which, when a button (13) is pressed in a state where a pointer (2) is indicating an area (4A) around an icon (4) on a screen (3), a signal indicating that the button (13) has been pressed and a signal of positional information of the pointer (2) at that time are input, and the control apparatus (40) performs movement control such that the pointer (2) indicates the icon (4) based on those signals. Therefore, even when the pointer (2) is not directly indicating the icon (4), the icon (4) can be indicated by indicating the area (4A) around the icon (4), thus improving operability in selecting the icon (4) on the screen (3) by the pointer (2).

[Object] To provide a 3-dimensional operation input apparatus, a control apparatus, a control system, a control method, and a handheld apparatus with which planar operations are possible without an increase in the number of components. [Solving Means] An input apparatus (1) includes an angular velocity sensor unit (15) and an acceleration sensor (16). A threshold value (Th3) is set to angular velocity values (É x, É y ) detected by the angular velocity sensor unit (15). Depending on whether the angular velocity values (É x , É y ) are smaller than the threshold value (Th3) (ST 1505) and whether at least one of acceleration values (a x , a z ) is larger than a threshold value (Th4) (ST 1506), a switch can be made between a planar operation mode and a 3-dimensional operation mode. Therefore, a switch can be made between the planar operation mode and the 3-dimensional operation mode without having to use a sensor other than the acceleration sensor (16) and the angular velocity sensor (15) (without increasing the number of components).

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device, input device, control system, control method, and hand-held device capable of preventing occurrence of deviation between a display location of a pointer and a relative location of the input device when the input device moves to outside a screen from an edge of the screen, and capable of giving a user intuitive operability.SOLUTION: Coordinates of a virtual pointer 2' are generated and stored not only for an actual screen 95 but also for a virtual screen 105 which is set around the actual screen 95. By this way, a user can resume movement of the pointer 2 on the actual screen 95 which has reached a boundary line of the actual screen 95, by moving an input device 1 to an opposite direction, for example, for an amount that the input device 1 has moved outside the actual screen 95, for example. Because the coordinate values of the pointer are generated in the pseudo absolute coordinate system without being constrained in a small screen, the user can intuitively operate the input device 1 without stress.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal type infrared detection element having an improved sensitivity obtained by suppressing heat conduction from an infrared detection part to a substrate without using a hollow structure, and effectively changing the temperature of the infrared detection part at the time of an infrared incident.SOLUTION: An infrared detection element is provided with a substrate 11, a thermal insulation layer 12 that is formed on the substrate and contains a space part, and a thermal type infrared detection layer 14 that detects infrared radiation according to the temperature change.

SOLUTION: In a method for manufacturing a meta-material member 10, first, a plurality of resonance elements 12, each of which has a resonator 1 of a prescribed shape, is produced (step S1). Then, a plurality of spherical microcapsules 20, each of which incorporates one resonator 1, is produced (step S2). Then, the microcapsules 20 are filled into a mold 33 of a prescribed shape together with a prescribed liquefied dielectric material 15 (step S4).
