Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for switching network with which efficient communication is enabled, the velocity of communication between nodes can be accelerated and no influence is exerted upon an entire network even when there is an unconnected node or fault node. SOLUTION: An input part 110 has an observing statistical part for summing up the quantity of communication per unit time between nodes by monitoring and interpreting the header of a packet, and the summed-up result is supplied to a discrimination part 13 at a route switching processing part 12 as route switching information. At the input part 110 , the packet is dispatched as it is to a switching determining part 14 at the route switching processing part 12 by a data bus. Similarly, the header of a packet supplied from another node Nn to an input part 11n is monitored and interpreted by the similar observing statistical part. The route switching information from this observing statistical part is also supplied to the discrimination part 13. Besides, packet data from the through node Nn are supplied to the switching determining part 14 as well.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the longest processing time necessary for a processing. SOLUTION: A hierachized storage device 12 is constituted of a storage part 120 in the uppermost hierarchy 0 for realizing a high speed processing, storage part 121 in a hierarchy 1, and storage part 12N in the lowermost hierarchy N. An attribute data table 13 is constituted of a first storage area of attribute data to be used by a processor 11 for processing the storage content by the storage part 120 in the hierarchy 0 in the future (after several unit time since the present time), and a second storage area of attribute data corresponding to each storage content of each storage part 121 -12N in the hierarchy 1 or lower. The hierarchy storage managing circuit 14 operates the movement of the storage content between the storage part of each hierarchy, and the monitor and management of the two storage areas of the attribute data table 13.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for generating JPEG data which can alleviate a CPU load and can realize an acceleration when the JPEG data is generated. SOLUTION: The method for generating the JPEG includes a step of determining a size of a header according to a parameter (step S2), and calculating a size of offset data so that the size of the header is divisible by a data quantity of 1DMA transfer (step S3). The method further includes then, a step of setting the size of the offset value and its other parameter to a header engine 4 (step S4), starting the header engine 4 (step S5), and storing header data in a storage unit 6. This header data are added by the offset data of the size at a head of an SOI (OxFFD 8), and image data are written in the storage unit 6 continuously to the header data without intermediary of the invalid data. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an inexpensive asynchronous transfer mode ATM switch of small scale that selectively abolishes a received ATM cell for each connection, in order to prevent occurrence of congestion. SOLUTION: An address converter 11 adds an abolish identifier, denoting priority of aborting an ATM cell to the ATM cell and gives the resulting ATM cell to an abort filter 12. The abort filter 12 detects the storage amount of a buffer group 4 and aborts the ATM cell from the address converter 11, on the basis of the abort identifier added to the ATM cell when the storage amount exceeds a prescribed threshold.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the configuration which makes it possible to efficiently verify the alteration of management data and converts a management data verification value stored in a secure memory to small-capacity data regardless of the data amount of the management data. SOLUTION: A calculated value based on a unidirectional function calculated based on data set at the highest position of a data management tree, i.e., low-order data, e.g., hash value, is stored in a memory in a security chip, and this value is applied as a verification value to conduct the verification on the alteration of management data set in the lowest layer of the data management tree. Even when the amount of the management data increases, it is not necessary to increase the data amount of the management data verification value so that it is possible to verify the alteration of a large amount of the management data. The device is configured so that, when data update, such as addition, deletion or change of the management data is conducted, the data verification processing is executed based on the hush value of the data management tree. Thus, illegal data update is prevented, and proper data management is realized. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
