PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biofuel battery and a power supply device capable of replenishing a battery main body with fuel without using a fuel cartridge.SOLUTION: A fuel supplying part consisting of, for example, a beehive base or a beehive plate for honey bees, is provided on one surface of a power generation part having electrodes (an anode and a cathode) on whose surfaces a redox enzyme exists, and collection and/or modification of fuel is performed by organisms such as honey bees. At this time, if needed, filter materials such as a nonwoven fabric and a cellophane are arranged between the anode and the beehive base or the beehive plate to supply the honey to the anode via these filter materials.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel container for a biofuel cell and a biofuel cell system, whereby fuel solution in a battery can be exchanged simply and conveniently without a need for a fuel supply mechanism such as a pump in a fuel cell body.SOLUTION: The fuel container including: a fuel solution storage part in which the fuel solution is stored; a waste liquid storage part in which waste liquid is stored; and a liquid feed mechanism by which the fuel solution is discharged and the solution after use is sucked is used to exchange fuel of the biofuel cell equipped with an electrode having oxygen existing on the surface. Concretely, the fuel solution stored in the fuel solution storage part of the fuel container is poured into the biofuel cell by the fuel feed mechanism, and the solution (waste liquid) after use in the biofuel cell is recovered in the waste liquid storage part.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inquiry system which, when a user of a fuel battery uses a commercial beverage as a fuel of the fuel battery, can simply determine the compatibility of the beverage as a battery fuel. SOLUTION: The system for inquiring the compatibility of a beverage as a battery fuel includes: a retrieval request receiving means (communication interface 19) for receiving the input of beverage information concerned with the beverage and/or fuel battery information concerned with the fuel battery as a retrieval request; a storage means 22 which stores a reference database in which retrieval requests are correlated with the performance data of the fuel battery; a retrieval means 20 which automatically retrieves performance data coincident with the retrieval request from the reference database; and a retrieval answer output means (communication interface 19) for outputting a retrieval answer. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply device which can realize an increase in output by connecting at least two electrodes in series and can simultaneously supply a fuel to the electrodes, and can perform power generation without performing any operation after the fuel supply.SOLUTION: A power supply device in which an enzyme is immobilized as a catalyst on at least one electrode of negative electrodes or positive electrodes includes: electromotive portions in which at least two of the negative electrodes and the positive electrodes are connected in series; and a fuel supply portion which communicates with the negative electrodes and simultaneously supplies a fuel to the at least two of the negative electrodes. The fuel supply portion is provided with fuel-supply adjusting portions which adjust fuel supply to the negative electrodes.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel supply body for a biofuel cell and a biofuel cell system which have high usability and large energy capacity.SOLUTION: A fuel supply body is formed of a material containing a biopolymer in part or all thereof as a main component and a biocatalyst for decomposing this biopolymer by metabolism is housed or bonded/fixed therein. Moreover, a biofuel cell system is constituted of this fuel supply body and a biofuel cell equipped with an electrode having redox enzyme existing on the surface, fuel and/or the biocatalyst is supplied from the fuel supply body to the biofuel cell, and the fuel supply body itself is used as the fuel.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell capable of increasing a battery capacity without reducing cathode characteristics.SOLUTION: In a bio fuel cell having one or more battery parts 1 in which oxidoreductase is present on a surface of an anode 2 and/or a cathode 3 and the cathode 3 is brought into contact with a liquid phase and a vapor phase, a selective permeation membrane 6 for suppressing permeation of at least a fuel component is disposed between an anode solution part 4 provided around the anode 2 and a cathode solution part 5 provided around the cathode 3. A fuel component concentration in the solution in contact with the anode 2 is then made higher than that in the solution in contact with the cathode 3.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biofuel cell where a current collector that is a metal member is easily separable from a battery structure.SOLUTION: A biofuel cell A includes: electrodes 21 and 22 disposed in a battery case 1; and current collectors 3 and 3 exposed outside the battery case 1. The current collectors 3 and 3 are set in partial intimate contact with the electrodes 21 and 22 in a separable manner through openings 4 and 4, which are established in the battery case 1, under a state where leakage prevention means is provided to prevent leakage of a solution in the battery case 1 through the openings 4 and 4. In the biofuel cell A, it is preferable that the electrodes 21 and 22 are formed using a carbon-based material, and that the battery case 1 is formed using a biodegradable plastic.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell and method for manufacturing the same, which stably obtains high current values when a positive electrode or a negative electrode is composed of an enzyme immobilized electrode.SOLUTION: In a biofuel cell having a structure in which a positive electrode 2 and a negative electrode 1 are opposed through an electrolyte layer 3, at least one of the positive electrode 1 or the negative electrode 2 is composed of an enzyme immobilized electrode, in which a contact angle to a buffer solution is equal to or more than 80 degrees and equal to or less than 120 degrees, or an enzyme immobilized electrode which is made of a material having regular fabric structure. For example, carbon is used as a material for the electrode. When carbon, which has regular fabric structure, is used as the material of the electrode, the porosity is equal to or more than 70% and equal to or less than 96%.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bio fuel cell that does not need an operation for injecting a fuel solution thereto and that can suppress lowering of enzyme activity of an oxidoreductase.SOLUTION: A separator 3 formed of a material that is impermeable against fluid is provided between a cell part 1 having, provided thereon, an electrode on whose surface an oxidoreductase is present and a fuel pool 2 adjacent to the cell part 1. By removing at least a part of the separator 3, a fuel solution 4 pooled in the fuel pool 2 is supplied to the cell part 1 to start electricity generation.
