Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the operability of the video signal reproducing device by setting up a mode for speed-variably moving a recording medium while reproducing a video signal by rotating a rotating operation part and a mode for rapidly moving the recording medium without reproducing the video signal. CONSTITUTION:The rotating operation part 12 is constituted so that a rotary ring 12a is rotated from the position of a mark MS up to the positions of marks ML, MR and a reproducing key 13 is arranged on a center part. In the 1st mode for outputting a video image, i.e. the ring 12a is rotated during the period of reproducing or stopping, variable speed reproducing is attained. In the 2nd mode in which a reproduced image is not outputted, i.e. at the time of stopping the rink 12a, quick feeding or rewinding operation is attained by the rotating operation part 12. Thus, the number of operation keys is reduced. In addition, the operability of the device is improved by sensuously understanding an operation method.
