Abstract: A mouldable prod. comprises fibrils of a ligneous material, finely divided and impregnated with a polymerisable resin. The prod. is prepd. by subjecting the fibres or fibrils to \-1 impregnation in the resin, drying the impregnated fibres and subjecting them to another impregnation. Impregnation is pref. effected by spraying a soln. of the resin with simultaneous mixing. Drying after the first and second impregnations is effected to bring the moisture content of the impregnated prod. to 10% and 3% respectively. The prod. is partic useful for moulding foodstuff containers e.g. jars, tubs, etc., having good surface characteristics, imitating if desired china or porcelain. The moulded prod. is heat resistant and inert towards foodstuffs. The containers may be used e.g. for yoghurts, creams and similar.
