    Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting higher data transmission rate. According to various embodiments disclosed herein, a method performed by a terminal in a wireless communication system may comprise the steps of: receiving configuration information from a base station when first information related to an extended reality (XR) multi-modal traffic service is added or modified, wherein the configuration information instructs the reporting of second information related to the first information; transmitting the second information to the base station on the basis of the configuration information, wherein the second information includes at least one of traffic characteristic information about each of one or more data radio bearers (DRB) servicing the multi-modal traffic or new configuration information preferred by each of the one or more DRBs; and receiving a first radio resource control (RRC) reconfiguration message including modified information about each of the one or more DRBs.
