    Abstract: Una lanceta de inyeccion (26) para inyeccion de gas caliente en un recipiente incluye un conducto de flujo de gas alargado (31) que recibe gas caliente que proviene de una estructura de entrada de gas (32) y una estructura tubular central alargada (33), la cual se extiende dentro del conducto de flujo de gas (31) desde su extremo posterior hasta su extremo delantero. Adyacente al extremo delantero del conducto (31), la estructura central (33) lleva una serie de hélices que dirigen el flujo (34), las cuales transmiten turbulencia al flujo de gas caliente que sale del conducto. La pared del conducto (31) corriente abajo a partir de la entrada de gas (32) es internamente enfriada por agua mediante el flujo de agua a través de los pasajes anulares (43, 44). The vessel is of the type that has a floor (3) that is refractory lined, a side wall (5) that is at least partially refractory lined, and a top wall (7), and at least two access openings to the interior of the vessel. The relining method included the steps of cooling down the vessel, gaining access to the interior of the vessel via the access openings, relining the vessel, and re-starting operation of the process in a period of time of 21 or less days.

    Abstract: An injection lance (26) for injecting hot gas into a vessel includes an elongate gas flow duct (31) which receives hot gas from a gas inlet structur e (32) and an elongate central tubular structure (33) which extends within gas flow duct (31) from its rear end to its forward end. Adjacent the forward en d of duct (31), central structure (33) carries a series of flow directing vane s (34) for imparting swirl to the hot gas flow exiting the duct. The wall of duct (31) downstream from gas inlet (32) is internally water cooled by flow of water through annular passages (43,44). The cooling water also flows through the interior of a duct tip (36) at the forward end of duct (31). The front e nd of central structure (33) which carries the swirl vanes (34) is internally water cooled by cooling water supplied forwardly through a central water flo w passage (52) from a water inlet (53) at the rear of the lance through to a nose (35) of the central structure. The cooling water returns back through t he central structure via an annular water return passage (54) to a water outlet (55) at the rear end of the lance.
