Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of easily producing high-purity o-tolidinesulfone that contains few amount of impurities such as by-produced o-tolidinesulfone sulfonic acid.SOLUTION: The method of producing high-purity o-tolidinesulfone by allowing o-tolidine and fuming sulfuric acid to react with each other, is characterized by keeping the maximum reaction temperature at 70°C or lower to suppress the production of o-tolidinesulfone sulfonic acid which is a byproduct.
