Abstract: The invention relates to methods and systems for creating a correlation between telephone numbers associated with different geographical areas. This comprises the steps of receiving (S502, S504), from a telephony device, a request for the assignment of a telephone number associated with a first geographical area that is to correspond to a telephone number associated with a second geographical area; assigning (S506) a first telephone number associated with the first geographical area to a second telephone number associated with the second geographical area, where the first telephone number can subsequently be used to connect telephony communications to the second telephone number; and informing (S508) the telephony device of the first telephone number.
