Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for recognizing multi-language printed documents, a method for extracting character features according to the present invention, the method comprising the steps of: a) normalizing characters to a fixed size; b) converting the size-fixed characters into mesh-type characters; c) extracting stroke features of each of the mesh-type characters; d) extracting non-stroke features of each of the mesh-type characters; and e) extracting the character features using the stroke features and the non-stroke features. The present invention provides a high recognition rate irrespective of the size and modification of the characters, by extracting the character feature from the stroke and non-stroke in the mesh block.
Abstract:
A system for managing and searching for a digital video includes: a video feature point extraction unit decoding an input video and extracting a feature point; a video feature point database (DB) storing and managing a feature point of a video to be compared (i.e., a comparison target video), and a video feature point comparison unit coarsely comparing the feature point of the input video and that of the comparison target video to acquire a candidate group, and minutely comparing the candidate group to detect a content repeated section, and informing a user of the content repeated section.
Abstract:
A method for managing digital videos includes extracting a feature of an input digital video, searching for candidate features having similarity to the extracted feature, and comparing the extracted feature with each of the candidate features to select at least one of the candidate features similar to the extracted feature and provide information on a digital video corresponding to the selected candidate feature.
Abstract:
A hybrid watermark insertion method includes the steps of dividing the digital image into a low frequency region and a high frequency region using an edge map of the digital image; inserting a watermark into the low frequency region of the image by employing a watermarking method using a human visual system (HVS); and inserting the watermark into the high frequency region of the image by employing a quantization index modulation (QIM) method. A hybrid watermark extraction method includes the steps of estimating a reference value used when inserting a watermark, and searching a maximum value of correlation coefficients in an image of the watermark image while changing the estimated reference value within a designated range, to thereby find out the watermark insertion method. Accordingly, the watermark insertion method can be easily identified, thereby enabling the watermark extraction in a more readily manner.

Abstract:
An apparatus and method for embedding and extracting digital watermarks using a blind mode based on wavelet transform which is robust to external attacks while being capable of minimizing a degradation in picture quality caused by embedding of the watermarks. In accordance with the invention, watermarks protection of the copyright for desired data are embedded in DC component domains of wavelet-transformed domains. In accordance with the invention, embedding of watermarks in a target image corresponding to a target domain in which the watermarks are to be embedded, is achieved by generating a data stream of the watermarks in accordance with a key value selected by the user, generating index information representing positions where the watermarks are to be embedded, in accordance with a key value selected by the ser, and reflecting the watermark data stream on data values of pixels in the target image at the positions based on the index information.
Abstract:
A surface inspecting apparatus comprises an image achieving unit for achieving an image of a surface of an object; and a controller for providing the symmetry feature of the spot or contaminant by using the magnitude of the intensity gradient and the orientation of the intensity gradient for each pixel of the achieved surface image to thereby detect a spot or contaminant on the surface. The controller detects the spot or contaminant by using a symmetry magnitude map formed by the magnitude of the intensity gradient and the orientation of the intensity gradient of each pixel, after achieving the magnitude of the intensity gradient and the orientation of the intensity gradient by using a gradient operator on the achieved surface image, wherein the symmetry magnitude map provides the internal symmetry feature of the spot or contaminant.
