    Abstract: In an image forming device, the inherent eccentricities of the photosensitive belts or drums and the timing belt speed reduction drive trains cause misregistration of the developed latent images. To prevent such misregistration, the timing belt (48) of the speed reduction drive train (42) has a peripheral length which is selected from a range of values dependent on a preselected speed reduction ratio n between the driven pulley (46) and the driving pulley (44). Further, each one of the range of values is an integral improper fraction or integral multiple of the circumference of the driven pulley. Moreover, the driving pulley (50) of the last pulley belt set coupled to the photosensitive member (40) and a driven pulley (46) prior to the last pulley belt set rotate n full rotations as the photosensitive member rotates from the image forming location to the image transfer location. In conjunction, every speed reduction ratio of all pulley belt sets prior to the last pulley belt set is an integer value. Thus, the eccentricities will be self-compensated.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for preventing a paper trailing edge printing from being deleted which can handle a paper so that components for forming images can move in proximity to the paper without any obstruction. SOLUTION: A biasing member 600 can firmly hold the paper on a paper path to a paper guide 610 by communicating with the paper guide 610. A printer 630 is enabled to contact the paper 620 near the trailing edge of the paper 620. The biasing member 600 applies a bias to the paper guide 610, preferably applies a force to the paper guide 610 so that the paper 620 is stretched tight to a farther point along the paper path. Images can be formed normally on the paper 620 with the use of the printer 630 by maintaining the paper 620 in the stretch state.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform accurate positional control of a printer with respect to a paper without requiring an expensive encoder in an imaging system employing multiscan printing. SOLUTION: An imaging system 100 comprises a paper handling surface 110 having an uneven mark 250 intersecting the axis and moving a paper 120 in a direction substantially parallel with the axis, a carriage 130 mounted slidably on the paper handling surface 110 and adapted to contain a printer 140 sliding in a direction substantially orthogonal to the axis and parallel with the paper handling surface 110, and an optical sensor 200 arranged to be disposed in the axial direction during movement of the paper handling surface 110 and to detect movement of the paper handling surface 110 relative to the carriage 130 by monitoring the mark 250.
