    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner composition capable of providing prints of excellent image quality.
    SOLUTION: The toner composition comprises a resin substantially free of cross linking; a cross linked resin; a wax; a flocculant; and a colorant; wherein the toner composition provides a fused image gloss of about 1-20 gloss units. The toner composition preferably has a transmission optical density of about ≥1.60 in toner mass per about 0.52 mg/cm
    2 unit area. The resin substantially free of cross linking is preferably comprised in an amount of about 68-75 wt.%, the cross linked resin in an amount of about 6-13 wt.%, the wax in an amount of about 6-15 wt.%, and the colorant in an amount of about 7-13 wt.%, based on the total weight of the toner composition, and the sum total of those components is preferably about 100 wt.%.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for preparing low melt and ultra low melt toners that allows for controlled particle growth and shape, and provides high yields. SOLUTION: The process for preparing low melt toners includes steps of: preparing a pre-toner mixture containing a first alkali sulfonated polyester resin, a second alkali sulfonated polyester resin and a colorant; adding an aggregating agent to the pre-toner mixture to aggregate the mixture to form an aggregate mixture comprising a large number of aggregated toner particles; coalescing the aggregate mixture at a temperature of about 5 to about 20°C above the glass transition temperature (Tg) of one of the first alkali sulfonated polyester resin or the second alkali sulfonated polyester resin to form a mixture of coalescing toner particles; and cooling the mixture of the coalescing toner particles.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a toner compsn. having good image fixing property, gloss characteristics and improved bending resistance by compounding a coloring agent and an addition polymn. resin produced from each specified proportion of styrene, acrylate, acrylonitrile and acrylic acid. SOLUTION: This toner consists of a coloring agent and an addition polymn. resin produced by compounding about 1 to 25wt.% acrylate, about 1 to 20wt.% acrylonitrile and about 0.5 to 5wt.% acrylic acid. For example, the toner compsn. contains a pigment, and if necessary, a toner additive, and further, contains some kind of an important emulsion polymn. resin obtd. by emulsion polymn. of a mixture of monomers of acrylonitrile, acrylate, styrene and acrylic acid. By using this toner, an image forming method, especially an electrophotographic image forming method and printing method can be realized.

    SOLUTION: The toner process includes: a step of adding a first component comprising an ionic salt to a latex emulsion comprising a resin to form a resin latex emulsion; a step of adding a second component comprising an organo-metallic aggregating agent to the latex emulsion by agitation at a temperature above a glass transition temperature of the resin, thereby forming a product mixture; and a step of subsequently cooling the product mixture to a temperature below the glass transition temperature of the resin, in order to form toner particles; and further a step of optionally isolating the toner particles.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner manufacturing method for simplifying processing and greatly shortening a manufacturing time. SOLUTION: A method for preparing toner comprises the steps of (i) adjusting coloring material dispersion, the pigment being dispersed in an ionic surfactant, (ii) shearing the pigment dispersion together with a latex or emulsion mixture made of resin grains and a pair ionic surfactant, (iii) forming an electrostatic coupling toner size flocculated body by heating the sheared mixture at a temperature lower than the glass transition temperature (Tg) of the resin grains, (iv) adding the stabilizer of phosphorous 3-calcium solid grains of an original state, the stabilizer being produced by calcium chloride solution and phosphorous 3-sodium solution, (v) obtaining tone size grains made of a resin and a pigment by heating the mixture between (iii) and (iv) at a temperature higher than Tg for the resin grains, (vii) performing cleaning by using acid so as to melt the phosphorous 3-calcium and (vii) optionally perform cleaning by using water so as to optionally dry obtained toner.
