Abstract: Ein Verfahren zum Herstellen einer Latexemulsion, die sich zur Verwendung in einer Tonerzusammensetzung eignet, schließt das Coemulgieren eines Harzes auf biologischer Basis mit einer unlöslichen Komponente, wie etwa ein Pigment oder Wachs, ein, wodurch das Wachs die unlösliche Komponente einkapselt. Der resultierende Latex, der die in dem Harz eingekapselte unlösliche Komponente einschließt, kann dann zum Bilden eines Toners verwendet werden. Die unlösliche Komponente kann somit in Tonerteilchen eingeschlossen werden, was andernfalls unter Verwendung von Emulsionsaggregationsverfahren schwierig zu erreichen sein könnte.

Abstract: A method of making particles suitable for use as toners includes forming a mixture of sulfonated polyester resin, a colorant dispersion and optionally a wax dispersion, homogenizing the mixture, adding a coagulant to the mixture to aggregate the mixture to form aggregated particles, and coalescing the aggregated particles to form coalesced particles. In the method, when a predetermined average particle size is achieved during the aggregation and/or coalescing step, a complexing agent that complexes with ions of the coagulant is added in an amount effective to substantially halt any further particle growth. The complexing agent is believed to halt further growth by complexing with free coagulant ions still in the solution.

A toner process including contacting an amorphous polyester resin; a crystalline polyester resin; a styrene acrylate copolymer; an optional wax; an optional colorant; and an optional aggregating agent; wherein the amorphous polyester resin comprises a rosin monomer content of from about 10 to about 25 percent rosin monomer heating to form aggregated toner particles; optionally, adding a shell resin to the aggregated toner particles, heating to coalesce the particles; and recovering the toner particles.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method for manufacturing a fluorinated structured organic film (FSOF) composition for a photoreceptor. The method includes combining a fluorinated diol, an electroactive segment and a solvent in a round bottom reactor. The reacted is heated, without mixing dissolve the fluorinated diol composition. The dissolved fluorinated diol composition is mixed to dissolve the electroactive segment while maintaining the reactor at a temperature of between 80 and 85 °C. A catalyst and a leveling agent are added to the solution to initiate a pre-cure reaction. The pre-cure reaction proceeds for at least 2 hours at a temperature of between 80 and 85 °C. The solution is cooled to room temperature and filtered.

Abstract: Tonerzusammensetzung umfassend (a) ein erstes amorphes Polyesterharz mit geringerem Molekulargewicht umfassend einen Polyester abgeleitet von Dodecenylbernsteinsäure, Dodecenylbernsteinsäureanhydrid oder einer Kombination davon, die/das in einer Menge von etwa 5 bis etwa 15 Gewichtsprozent, bezogen auf das Gesamtgewicht des ersten amorphen Polyesters, vorhanden ist; (b) ein zweites amorphes Polyesterharz mit einem höheren Molekulargewicht umfassend einen Polyester abgeleitet von Dodecenylbernsteinsäure, Dodecenylbernsteinsäureanhydrid oder einer Kombination davon, und ein Verzweigungsmittel, das von einer Polysäure- oder Polyolkomponente abgeleitet ist; wobei die Dodecenylbernsteinsäure, das Dodecenylbernsteinsäureanhydrid oder die Kombination davon im zweiten amorphen Polyester in einer Menge von etwa 5 bis etwa 15 Gewichtsprozent, bezogen auf das Gesamtgewicht des zweiten amorphen Polyesters, vorhanden ist; (c) ein kristallines Polyesterharz; (d) ein Wachs; und (e), gegebenenfalls, einen Farbstoff.
