Abstract:
There is provided a novel music data compression method which is capable of significantly reducing the size of music data. Music data including a sequence of performance event data each formed of note information is received. Each of the pieces of performance event information of the music data is converted to another form of performance event information including status information corresponding to a matching or mismatching pattern in note information between the piece of performance event information and an immediately preceding one of the pieces of performance event information, and note information necessitated according to the matching or mismatching pattern to which the status information corresponds.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce sounds corresponding to a variety of chords with a simply operation.SOLUTION: In a portable device, when two of operation pieces allotted to respective areas on a touch sensor are operated, a kind of a root sound and a kind of a chord are designated by the operation of the two operation pieces. Then, the portable device specifies constitution sounds of the designated chord, and performs a sound production instruction of the constitution sounds to produce a sound. Therefore, operating two operation pieces allows a sound production of a variety of chords. Additionally, an operation of three of the operation pieces allows a sound production of a fraction chord in which a base sound is also designated.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect the number of steps of a carrying person of a portable terminal without regard to the release of sound from the speaker of the portable terminal.SOLUTION: An acceleration sensor 16 outputs an acceleration signal indicating acceleration caused by walking of the carrying person of the portable terminal 10. A filter 212 outputs a signal obtained by correcting the acceleration signal. While a player 111 reproduces music data MD, a filter property controller 215 controls the filter properties of filter processing by the filter 212 so as to remove from the acceleration signal the component of the band of the frequency component included in the reproduced sound of the music data MD.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speech processor capable of performing the optimum processing in accordance with the speech signal for a speech signal, and to provide a communication terminal apparatus comprising the speech processor. SOLUTION: A voiceprint extraction part 3 produces a feature data exhibiting a feature of the speech signal. A speech signal processing module 8 processes the speech signal in accordance with processing contents specified by a signal processing parameter. A storage part 4 correlates and stores the feature data and the signal processing parameter. A parameter setting part 6 selects feature data analogous to the feature data produced by the voiceprint extraction part 3 from among the feature data stored in the storage part 4 and sets the signal processing parameter which is correlated with the selected feature data onto the speech signal processing module 8. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound source system which can reproduce a music file having data interchange format for interchanging music sequence data and can assure the reproduction of music designed by a producer, a computer-readable storage medium of storing the music file, and a music file creation tool capable of creating the music file having the data interchange format. SOLUTION: A scramble processing for rearranging a channel number in original music sequence data at random is executed to create a music file to which channel attribution information for representing a corresponding relationship between the rearranged channel number and a timbre type is added. When reproducing the music file with a sound source system capable of interpreting the channel attribution information, the music file can be reproduced with the timbre of the timbre type designed by the producer. On the other hand, when reproducing the music file with a noncompliant sound source system, the timbre becomes distinctly different since it is reproduced with default channel attribution despite the channel attribution information is ignored and the channel number is rearranged at random, so that it is made possible to inform a user of the reproduction with the timbre undesigned by the producer. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio reproducing device capable of generating new music data by compounding the reproduction of music and accompaniment tone performed by arrangement with the reproduction. SOLUTION: A player 21 reads original audio data from a memory 20 and outputs it to an audio decoder 22. The audio data after the decoding by the audio decoder 22 are subjected to processing for canceling musical instrument sound by a musical instrument sound canceling module 23, and are output to a mixer 24. When a user plays the music of instrument, digital performance data are output to the mixer 24 via an effector 26 after A/D conversion from a microphone or line input terminal. The mixer 24 mixes the audio data after cancellation of the musical instrument sound and the digital performance data, and causes a loudspeaker 6 to emit the sound after D/A conversion, and performs encoding of the mixed data to generate audio data with musical instrument sound performed by the user. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file format and an audio playback device that provide a streaming playback using a multimedia file comprising compressed audio data, MIDI data, image data, and text data. SOLUTION: In stream distribution, the MIDI data, image data, and text data are transmitted prior to the compressed audio data, and a reception controller 11 of a mobile phone 1 saves received data in a memory buffer 12 in sequence. A player 13 reads in the MIDI data, image data, and text data first and instructs respective decoders to make preparations for a playback. The position of a read from the memory buffer 12 reaches the position where the compressed audio data are stored, the player 13 starts the streaming playback. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile phone on which various musical pieces can be played with a feeling close to that of a performance of a real musical instrument. SOLUTION: The pitch names of 12 tones as the basic tones of a keyboard musical instrument are allocated to 12 keys of the mobile phone. The pitch names are allocated while related to an arrangement of keys of a real keyboard musical instrument in such a manner that, for example the six pitch names disposed on the right side of "fa" are allocated to number keys "1" to "6" as an area to be played with the right hand and the six pitch names on the left side of "fa" of the keyboard are allocated to number keys "7" to "9", "*", "0", and "#" as an area to be played with the left hand. When a user presses a number key, note-on is issued with the note number corresponding to the pitch name allocated to the pressed number key and when a user takes off a number key, note-off is issued with the note number corresponding to the pitch name allocated to the taken off number key.
