Abstract:
Provided are a nozzle and a honeycomb filter production apparatus capable of ejecting an aerosol from a plurality of different portions to a base of a honeycomb filter without complicating the configuration of a powder transfer section of the honeycomb filter production apparatus. A nozzle (22) is mounted on an end of an "ejector for ejecting an aerosol" on an ejection side in the honeycomb filter production apparatus. A single introduction port (Ha) is formed at an end surface of the nozzle (22) on one side, and a plurality of discharge ports (Hb) are formed at an end surface of the nozzle (22) on the other side. A single introduction passage (22a) extends linearly from the single introduction port (Ha). A plurality of discharge passages (22b) are each branched from an end portion of the introduction passage (22a) and extend to corresponding one of the discharge ports (Hb) in a direction tilted from the direction of the introduction passage (22a). When a ratio of a sum of opening areas of the plurality of discharge ports (Hb) with respect to an opening area of the single introduction port (Ha) is defined to be "α", and the number of the plurality of discharge ports (Hb) is defined to be "n", 1≤α≤√n holds.
Abstract:
A polymeric container is used to supply texture materials to the inlet of a pump. Linear low density polyethylene is used to mold a container with geometry such that the material will flow down to the inlet of a texture pump. The geometry is optimized such that thorough mixing of material can be achieved. A hole in the bottom is provided to accept a drain plug.
Abstract:
A dispenser (110) for a blown fibrous insulation delivery system which is attached to a fibrous material delivery conduit (114) of the system. The dispenser (110) includes a pipe (112) having a first end (122) which is attachable to the delivery conduit (114) and second end which carries a deflector (120) for compressing a flow of fibrous insulation discharged through the outlet of the pipe (112) and for changing the direction of flow of fibrous insulation compressed thereby. The deflector (120) includes a substantially planar portion disposed at an acute angle with respect to the pipe outlet (126). The dispenser (110) may also include a second deflector for changing the direction of flow of the compressed fibrous insulation.
Abstract:
A nozzle is mounted on an end of an ejector for ejecting an aerosol on an ejection side in a honeycomb filter production apparatus. The nozzle is formed into a shape having a longitudinal direction. A single introduction port is formed at an end surface of the nozzle on one side in the longitudinal direction, and a plurality of discharge ports are formed at an end surface of the nozzle on the other side in the longitudinal direction. A single introduction passage extends linearly from the single introduction port in the longitudinal direction. A plurality of discharge passages are each branched from an end portion of the introduction passage on a side opposite to the introduction port and extend to corresponding one of the discharge ports in a direction tilted from the longitudinal direction.
Abstract:
A hot melt adhesive supply system includes a container configured to receive a supply of unmelted hot melt adhesive pieces, and an agitation device configured to agitate the supply of hot melt adhesive pieces situated in the container. The hot melt adhesive supply system further includes a transfer conduit configured to communicate hot melt adhesive pieces from the container to a hot melt adhesive melter.
Abstract:
A method of producing a honeycomb filter using a production apparatus that includes: a workpiece securing section for securing a base of a honeycomb filter; a powder transfer section for transferring a powder together with a pressurized gas (e.g., air); an introduction section for introducing the powder that has transferred from the powder transfer section into the base secured by the workpiece securing section when the apparatus is used; a suction section for sucking the gas that has passed through the base secured by the workpiece securing section using suction means; a cleaning section for removing a surplus powder adhering to an end face of the base after the introduction of the powder; a judgment section for judging an amount of the powder adhering to the base; and a workpiece transfer section for transferring the base among the workpiece securing section, the cleaning section, and the judgment section.
Abstract:
A system for transporting insulation particles suitable for use in a process for forming an insulation product is provided, comprising: a blowing machine for forming an insulation particle/air suspension, wherein the blowing machine comprises at least one opening, and a hose in communication with the at least one opening, for transporting the suspension to or from the blowing machine, wherein the internal diameter variation of at least a portion of the hose is less than about 0.20 inch.
Abstract:
Nozzles for converting clumps and nodules of dry or substantially dry fibrous insulation to pils and for spraying on the so treated and accelerated air entrained insulation pieces to form thermal and acoustical insulation in building cavities. The nozzles comprise a shredder section for reducing the size of many of the pieces of insulation to pil size and an accelerator section for increasing the velocity of a stream of air suspended pils for improved just-installed insulation integrity or strength. The shredder and the accelerator can also be combined in a single unit.
Abstract:
A slurry composition for mending a deteriorated surface of a concrete structure. The slurry includes an acrylic emulsion type elastic paint suspended by glass fibers cut from glass fiber strands. Prior to the formation of the slurry, the chopped glass fiber strands are immersed to a suitable solvent such as a toluene so that any size (spinning oil) applied to the filaments during their spinning operation are removed. The slurry is applied to the deteriorated surface of a concrete structure so that a reinforcing coating is created on the surface of the concrete structure.
Abstract:
An insulation material spraying apparatus for using dry material and wet recycle material having, at least two hoppers for separately receiving the materials, at least one auger for receiving the materials for conveyance longitudinally of the auger, an accumulator chamber for receiving the materials and having at least one mixer rotatable about an axis for separately mixing and expanding the volume of the materials, a flow stabilizer to form a mixture of the wet and dry material and a pneumatic transport for receiving and dispensing the mixed insulation material. A process of spraying a mixture of dry material and wet recycle material from a single pneumatic transport using a dry material hopper and a wet recycle hopper, separately conveying the materials to an accumulator chamber, separately mixing and expanding the volume of the dry and wet recycle materials, mixing the dry material and the wet recycle material together, directing the mixture of the dry material and the wet recycle material into a pneumatic transport, and then dispensing and spraying the mixture.
