Abstract:
A doctoring apparatus has a flexible doctor blade advanced longitudinally across a surface being doctored. The doctor blade is feed in a continuous length from a storage cartridge and sequentially supported in a blade holder to apply the blade to a moving surface to be doctored. One or both of a pneumatic blade advancing device and a pneumatically operated clamping system are opened and closed in timed sequence with reciprocation of the blade holder longitudinally shifting the doctor blade in a selected direction across the doctored surface. The pneumatic blade advancing device includes an idler roller and a powered roller that cooperate to indexingly advance the doctor blade along the blade path. The clamping system includes a blade cutter to cut the doctor blade and that drives the cut off end of the doctor blade into a discard container.
Abstract:

The fluid delivery apparatus includes a cascade device and a chemical dispenser device. The system also includes a fluid stirring apparatus comprising at least one fan positioned over the web and configured to generate a flow pattern that stirs the fluid mixture on the web while the layer is being formed, without the at least one fan contacting the fluid mixture. The system further includes a fluid removal apparatus having a rinsing device and a suction device. The rinsing device is configured to dispense a rinsing fluid onto the web. The suction device is configured to remove by suction the rinsing fluid and a remaining portion of the fluid mixture remaining on the web after formation of the layer.
Abstract:
An automatic dispensing device for wallboard joint taping is provided, including a body for holding a supply of viscous material and having a rear end and an opposite front end, a spool assembly disposed on the body and configured for supporting a spool of tape; at least one drive roller positioned at the front end and receiving an end of the spool of tape. Certain embodiments include an adhesive application assembly connected to the drive roller and mounted in operational relationship to the front end for dispensing a measured amount of adhesive upon an upper surface of the tape upon rotation of the at least one drive roll. In such embodiments, the body may be configured for holding sufficient adhesive to cover tape advanced by at least 200 rotations of the at least one drive roller.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an apparatus for applying a fluid or pasty medium to a continuous material web, particularly one made of paper or cardboard, having at least one application unit (1) for the fluid or pasty medium, comprising a roll (2) assigned to the application unit (1) for receiving the fluid or pasty medium in the case of an indirect application or for supplying the web in the event of a direct application, further comprising an application blade (6), and a cleaning blade (7) arranged against the direction of rotation (P) of the roll (2) at a distance from the application blade (6), the cleaning blade (7) limiting by means of the application blade (6) an application chamber (5) for the fluid or pasty medium and having a blade element (12) extending across the width of the web and arranged within a blade base (13). The blade element (12) is movably arranged in a direction running essentially parallel to its longitudinal extension.
Abstract:
A coating device for one- or two-sided coating of a travelling web includes at least one counter-device and at least one first metering device placed on the opposite side of the web (5) for applying onto said web, in cooperation with said counter-device, a coating agent. The metering device (7) includes an evening or metering member (11) extending across the web over its full width. The evening or metering member is made of a flexible, elongate element (21, 23), the length of said element (21, 23) substantially exceeding the width of the web (5) and being arranged to be fed across the web (5) so that new sections of the element will come into contact with the web to ensure correct evening or metering of the supplied coating agent. The coating device according to the invention can be used for transfer coating as well as direct coating.
Abstract:
In a pull through doctor blade transfer system wherein a coiled blade is payed off one rotatable reel while simultaneously being taken up on another rotatable reel, with an intermediate portion of the blade between the reels being supported in a blade holder arranged to apply the blade to a moving surface to be doctored, each reel is driven by a hydraulic motor. In operation, hydraulic fluid discharged from the motor driving the take up reel is fed to the motor connected to the pay off reel. This fluid is pumped to a high pressure by blade induced rotation of the pay off motor, thus creating a braking torque.
Abstract:
A dimensionally stable universal floor covering includes a tufted textile having stitches and a reinforcement layer operatively connected to the stitches to provide dimensional stability for the entire floor covering. The reinforcement layer is made of fibers and adhesive that are formed into a reinforcement layer of laminated fibers that is operatively connected to the stitches and/or the fibers and adhesive are formed into a layer of fibers and adhesive that is contained within the stitches. The fibers and adhesive are mixed and then moved by an applicator toward the stitches. A curved slip path is formed on a curved portion of the applicator to improve the movement of the fibers and adhesive toward the stitches. A removable tip portion on the end of the curved portion of the applicator improves the penetration of the adhesive and provides compression of the fibers towards the ends of the stitches. A releasable adhesive cover system is provided to cover the layer of fibers for providing additional strength and stability and for providing a releasable attachment of the universal floor covering to a supporting surface.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a production device for graphene thin film. The production device for graphene thin film according to the present invention may comprise a deposition plate in contact with a substrate at an obtuse or acute angle, wherein the substrate is coated with a graphene oxide solution; and a reciprocating linear motion device connected to the deposition plate to put the deposition plate into reciprocating linear motion.
Abstract:
A method for patterning an article, the article comprising a first layer of a first material, the method comprising providing a thread carrying a first species, e.g. a solvent in which the first material is soluble, and contacting the thread with the first layer to remove at least part of the first layer.
Abstract:
Equipment and a method for changing a blade which is intended to be placed in a blade holder (10) and which is preferably arranged as a flexible band (16). The equipment has reels (14, 15) for keeping the band (16) reeled and transfer devices (18) for moving the band (16) in the blade holder (10) between the reels (14, 15). The equipment includes guide devices (17) for guiding the band (16) from a reel (14, 15) to the blade holder (10) and vice versa. The guide devices (17) are arranged to turn the band (16) longitudinally to be essentially parallel to the blade holder (10). The closest guide member (20) of the guide members (20, 20′) belonging to the guide devices (17) is rotated to a position that essentially corresponds to the position of the blade holder (10) turned to the blade-changing position.
