Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a strip of packing material from curling by itself after embossing. SOLUTION: An assembly for an embossing has two embossing rollers (6, 7), rotating about their respective axes of rotation (9, 10) to emboss the strip (5) of packing material which, in use, is fed along an embossing plane (A), substantially tangent to the two rollers (6, 7), and through an embossing passage (13) defined between the two rollers (6, 7); the axes of rotation (9, 10) being skewed with respect to each other and substantially parallel to the embossing plane (A). COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
The embossing unit comprises: at least one embossing roller (3) with a rotation axis (3A) and a substantially cylindrical surface with a plurality of embossing protuberances (P3) with linear extension; a pressure roller (5) with a yielding surface (5B); an embossing nip (Gl) defined between said pressure roller (5) and said embossing roller (3); a feed path of a web material (N) extending through said embossing nip (Gl). Along the linear extension thereof the embossing protuberances (P3) have a variable inclination with respect to the rotation axis (3 A) of the embossing roller (3) and a variable cross section along the longitudinal extension of said embossing protuberances.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a soft, thick, single-ply tissue and to a process for the manufacture of such tissue product having a basis weight of at least about 15 lbs./3,000 square foot ream and having low sidedness, said tissue exhibiting a specific total tensile strength of between 40 and 75 grams per 3 inches per pound per 3000 square feet ream, a cross direction specific wet tensile strength of between 2.75 and 7.5 grams per 3 inches per pound per 3000 square feet ream, the ratio of MD tensile to CD tensile of between 1.00 and 2.75, a specific geometric mean tensile stiffness of between 0.5 and 1.2 grams per inch per percent strain per pound per 3000 square feet ream, a ratio of product cross direction stretch to base sheet cross direction stretch of at least about 1.4, a friction deviation of less than 0.225, and a sidedness parameter of less than 0.275.
Abstract:
Abstract:
An embossing and laminating machine is described which comprises a first embossing cylinder (3) with a surface provided with a first set of protuberances (P3) disposed with a first pitch in a first direction (Lx3) of alignment and with a second pitch in a second direction (Ly3) of alignment, the said first and the said second direction of alignment forming between them an angle ( alpha ) other than zero; a second embossing cylinder (5), with its axis (A5) parallel to the axis (A3) of the first embossing cylinder (3), and with a surface provided with a second set of protuberances (P5) disposed with the said first pitch in a third direction (Lx5) of alignment and with the said second pitch in a fourth direction (Ly5) of alignment; and a first and a second pressure roller (7, 9) interacting with the said first and the said second embossing cylinder (3, 5) respectively. The first and the third direction of alignment (Lx3) are inclined with respect to the axes (A3, A5) of the corresponding embossing cylinders (3, 5) such that, in the lamination nip, there is only partial correspondence between the protuberances of one cylinder and the protuberances of the other cylinder.
Abstract:
An embossed tissue having improved bulk and puffiness while being non-nesting by having a lattice pattern and at least two signature bosses. More particularly, one of the signature bosses is defined by embossments having a lower portion which is continuous and an upper portion which is defined by crenels and merlons.
