Abstract: PURPOSE: A measurement device for determining oxygen activity in molten metal or slag is provided to simply construct the measurement device and a solid electrolyte tube. CONSTITUTION: A measurement device for determining oxygen activity in molten metal or slag has a measurement head(2). The measurement head(2) is arranged in an end part of a carrier tube(5) in which electrochemical batteries are arranged. The electrochemical batteries have a solid electrolyte tube(5). The solid electrolyte tube(5) has a closed end part and includes a reference material. The closed end part includes an electrode. The electrode is protruded from an end part opposite to the solid electrolyte tube(5). An outer surface of the solid electrolyte tube(5) includes a composition coating of zirconate and fluoride.
