Abstract:
Disclosed are a lactone-modified polyvinyl alcohol and a process for the preparation thereof, a polymer composition, a permanently anti-electrostatic resin composition, a lactone-modified resin having hydroxyl groups, and a process for the preparation thereof. The lactone-modified polyvinyl alcohol can be used in wide fields owing to the capability of freely adjusting the water solubility, such as water-soluble, gradually water-soluble, low water-soluble, and water-insoluble by a degree modified by lactone compounds, and owing to possessing properties both of PVA and lactones. Furthermore, the lactone-modified polyvinyl alcohol has properties such as being plasticizers or softening agents, and as a result, there can be provided a polymer composition having excellent properties by mixing with a hydrophilic polymer or polar polymer. Still further, a blend resin composition in which a variety of resins are blended with the lactone-modified polyvinyl alcohol has an excellent permanently-anti-electrostatic property, and the resin composition having a permanently-anti-electrostatic property can be preferably employed as a variety of molded articles such as parts for electric appliances, textiles, films, etc.
Abstract:
A polyetheresteramide having good heat resistance, permanent antistatic property and superior compatibility with thermoplastic resins and a resin composition containing the polyetheresteramide are disclosed, wherein the polyetherester-amide consists essentially of a polyamide oligomer with carboxylic chain ends having a number average molecular weight between 200 and 5,000 and a bisphenol compound with oxyalkylene units having a number average molecular weight between 300 and 3,000. Antistatic resin compositions with good antistatic property and heat resistance are obtained from compositions comprising 3 to 40% by weight of the polyetheresteramide and 60 to 97% by weight of thermoplastic resins. The antistatic resin compositions can contain as compatibilizers vinyl polymers having functional groups such as carboxyl and epoxy groups or block polymers containing polyolefin blocks and aromatic vinyl polymer blocks. To further improve the antistatic property of the resin composition a composition comprising at least 97% by weight of the polyetheresteramide and at least 0.01% by weight of an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal halide can be used in the same way as the polyetheresteramide.
Abstract:
Antistatic agents and their use in processing textiles or formed plastic substrates. The antistatic agent comprises a compound having a fluorocarbon moiety and an ethoxylated quaternary ammonium moiety. The antistatic composition increases the electrolytic conductivity of treated textile or plastic materials, thereby increasing the rate of electrostatic charge dissipation thereof. The antistatic agents remain effective after exposure of the treated substrate to an aqueous environment.
Abstract:
An antistatic composition which essentially consists of (1) optionally and partially salified polystyrenesulfonic acid; (2) acrylic or urethane resin; and (3) aqueous and organic solvents.

THE FLAME-RESISTANCE AND ANTISTATIC PROPERTIES OF FABRICS FORMED FROM THERMOPLASTIC POLYMER FILAMENTS CONTAINING FROM 2 TO 15% BY WEIGHT, BASED ON THE WEIGHT OF POLYMER, OF A POLYALKOXYLATED COMPOUND ARE GREATLY IMPROVED BY INCORPORATING INTO SAID FILAMENTS IN COMBINATION WITH THE POLYALKOXYLATED COMPOUND FROM 2 TO 15% BY WEIGHT, BASED ON THE WEIGHT OF THE POLYMER OF AN ALKYL PHOSPHONIUM PHOSPHATE OF THE FORMULA
R''-P(+)(-R)3 (-)O-P(=O)(-O-R'')2
WHEREIN EACH R AND R'' IS AN ALKYL RADICAL HAVING FROM 1 TO 20 CARBON ATOMS.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antistatic agent giving a molded product sufficient permanent antistaticity even when added in a small amount, without impairing both the appearance and mechanical strength of the molded product, and to provide an antistatic resin composition containing the same.SOLUTION: The antistatic agent (Z) includes: (A) a block polymer composed of, as constituent units, blocks of a hydrophobic polymer (a) and blocks of a hydrophilic polymer (b); and (B) an organofluorine-modified polyolefin. The antistatic resin composition is such as to be obtained by incorporating the antistatic agent in (C) a thermoplastic resin.
