Abstract:
An image reading apparatus includes a housing provided with a light passage, a transparent plate mounted on the housing, a light source for emitting light into the light passage, a lens array facing the image reading section on the transparent plate, a plurality of light-receiving elements arranged in an array extending in a primary scanning direction, and a light reflector formed on the transparent plate. The light reflector is offset from the image reading section in the secondary scanning direction, which is perpendicular to the primary scanning direction.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader which can be assembled efficiently, and a manufacturing method of the image reader.SOLUTION: An image reader A1 of the invention comprises: optical components 2 and 3 extending long along an x direction; a case 1 having housing parts 11 and 12 for housing the optical components 2 and 3; and light-receiving means housed in the case 1. The optical components 2 and 3 are fixed to the housing parts 11 and 12 with first adhesive 171 and 181 and second adhesive 172 and 182 hardening more slowly than the first adhesive 171 and 181.
