Abstract: Disclosed are catalyst compositions comprising two or more metal elements with high performances for selective alkyl-demethylation of C2+-hydrocarbyl-substituted aromatics, processes for making such catalyst compositions, and alkyl-demethylation processes using same. Also disclosed are preferred processes for making alkyl-demethylation catalyst compositions including a high-temperature calcination step, and preferred alkyl-demethylation processes having a high H2/HC molar ratio.

Abstract: An as-synthesized microporous material having a CHA structure and containing at least one organic structure directing agent that has the following general structure of the quaternary ammonium cation is disclosed: Formula (I) A microporous crystalline material made from the as-synthesized material is also disclosed. A method of making microporous crystalline material using one or more organic structure directing agents is also disclosed. A method of selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides in exhaust gas that comprises contacting exhaust gases, typically in the presence of ammonia, urea, an ammonia generating compound, or a hydrocarbon compound, with an article comprising the disclosed microporous crystalline is also disclosed.

Abstract: Catalysts for converting carbon dioxide and methane to synthesis gas include an alumina supported copper-nickel alloy composition having the formula NixCuy. The catalyst comprises about 70% to about 98% by weight of alumina in the catalyst, wherein x is an atomic percentage nickel content and y is an atomic percentage copper content, and wherein a ratio of x to y is about 3:1 to about 10:1. In one embodiment, the Ni-Cu catalyst composition according to the present disclosure is derived by state of the art electronic structure calculations based on Density Functional Theory (DFT).

A method of continuous flow process to create anatase TiO2 crystals with particle sizes ranging from about 0.1 nm to about 200 nm, or further ranging from about 0.1 nm to about 20 nm in size.

Abstract: An improved hydroisomerization catalyst and process for making a base oil product using a catalyst comprising SSZ-91 molecular sieve and ZSM-12 molecular sieve. The catalyst and process generally involves the use of a catalyst comprising an SSZ-91 molecular sieve combined with a ZSM-12 molecular sieve to produce dewaxed base oil products by contacting the catalyst with a hydrocarbon feedstock. The catalyst and process provide improved base oil cold properties, such as pour point and cloud point, along with other beneficial base oil properties.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for preparing a catalyst for the selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxide comprising, among other steps, preparing a second aqueous mixture comprising water and an iron salt; and disposing the second mixture on the substrate obtained according to (ii), comprising a coating comprising a zeolitic material comprising copper, over y % of the substrate axial length from the inlet end to the outlet end of the substrate, wherein y is in the range of from 10 to x, obtaining a substrate comprising, in a first zone, the coating comprising a zeolitic material comprising copper and over y % of the substrate axial length an iron salt; and, if x > y, in a second zone extending from y % to x % of the substrate axial length from the inlet end to the outlet end, the coating comprising a zeolitic material comprising copper.

Abstract: The present invention refers to a method for the preparation of a shell type catalyst for mercury oxidation, the catalyst and the use of the catalyst. The catalyst is prepared by a method comprising mixing titanium dioxide, a compound of a promoter selected from molybdenum and tungsten, and a binder, to prepare a paste; shaping the paste, to obtain a shaped paste; drying and optionally calcining the shaped paste, to obtain a support material; impregnating the support material with an aqueous alkaline impregnation solution comprising a vanadium compound; drying and calcining the impregnated support material, to obtain the catalyst. The catalyst is useful for purifying exhaust gases from coal plants and other power plants where mercury emissions occurs.

Abstract: A process for producing a hydrogen-rich gas stream from a liquid hydrocarbon stream, the process comprising the steps of introducing the liquid hydrocarbon stream to a dual catalytic zone, the liquid hydrocarbon stream comprises liquid hydrocarbons selected from the group consisting of liquid petroleum gas (LPG), light naphtha, heavy naphtha, gasoline, kerosene, diesel, and combinations of the same, the dual catalytic zone comprises: a combustion zone comprising a seven component catalyst, and a steam reforming zone, the steam reforming zone comprising a steam reforming catalyst; introducing steam to the dual catalytic zone, introducing an oxygen-rich gas to the dual catalytic zone; contacting the liquid hydrocarbon stream, steam, and oxygen-rich gas with the seven component catalyst to produce a combustion zone fluid; and contacting the combustion zone fluid with the steam reforming catalyst to produce the hydrogen- rich gas stream, wherein the hydrogen-rich gas stream comprises hydrogen.

Abstract: A process for preparing C2 to C4 olefins includes introducing a feed stream of hydrogen gas and a carbon-containing gas into a reaction zone of a reactor and converting the feed stream into a product stream including C2 to C4 olefins in the reaction zone in the presence of a hybrid catalyst and in a non-oxidative atmosphere. The hybrid catalyst includes a metal oxide catalyst component comprising gallium oxide and zirconia, and a microporous catalyst component having an 8 membered ring structure. The process also includes periodically introducing an oxidative atmosphere into the reaction zone.
