Abstract:
The present invention provides an implosion prevention tension band 16 for use in a cathode ray tube (CRT) 10. The CRT includes a faceplate panel 18 with a substantially flat viewing faceplate 21 and a peripheral rearwardly extending sidewall 22 having an inside blend radius 23 from the viewing faceplate 21 to the sidewall 22. The tension band 16 is a single layer band surrounding the panel 18 and having a predetermined width extending rearwardly from near the faceplate 21 to at least half the distance between the rear edge of the inside blend radius 23 and the rear edge of the sidewall 22. According to another aspect of the present invention, the tension band 16 includes a plurality of tension adjusting features 40 being positioned at locations around the band 16 aft of the inside blend radius 23 in such manner that the stresses in predetermined areas of the panel 18 are reduced.
Abstract:
A CRT display including a display panel having a substantially flat outside surface, and an inside surface with a substantially fixed curvature includes a film coating with a non-uniform transmissivity. The film coating's transmissivity is varied, as a function of position, to compensate for variations in transmissivity exhibited by the display panel, thus resulting in substantially uniform image brightness across the surface of the CRT.
Abstract:
A panel for a color cathode ray tube includes an opening portion provided with a seal end surface to which a funnel is sealed through a frit glass The seal end surface of the opening portion is a rough surface comprising a large number of streak-shape ridges and troughs in which minute recesses and protrusions range in a circumference direction of the seal end surface.
Abstract:
A funnel for a cathode ray tube includes a body portion having an opened end connected to a panel and an alignment mark formed on an outer surface of the body portion in the vicinity of the opened end, a neck portion for housing an electron gun, a yoke portion around which a deflection yoke is mounted, the yoke portion having a first end connected to the body portion at a top-of-round (TOR) and a second end connected to the neck portion. A convex portion having a thickness greater than 1 mm is provided on an outer portion of the body portion and/or yoke portion from the vicinity of the end of the alignment mark to the vicinity of the TOR in a direction of a tube axis.
Abstract:
A cathode ray tube includes a film which is formed on an outer surface of a panel portion. The film is comprised of a first particles which become transparent due to the oxidation and a second particles which are chemically and physically stable and have the light absorbing ability and the conductivity. A number of the transparent first particles is gradually increased toward a peripheral portion from the center portion of the panel portion.
Abstract:
A cathode ray tube has a cathode and plural grid electrodes fixed by insulating support rods. The cathode is supported within an eyelet disposed within and bonded to a cup-shaped support by a crystallized glass. The cup-shaped support is fixed by the insulating support rods. The crystallized glass is formed by firing a glass composition composed chiefly of zinc oxide, boron oxide, silicon oxide, and magnesium oxide. The crystallized glass exhibits a ratio in intensity of a diffraction peak A to a diffraction peak B in a range from 0.25 to 0.80 in an X-ray diffraction analysis using X-rays of 0.154 nm in wavelength, where the diffraction peak A is in the vicinity of 2nullnull25.5null, the diffraction peak B is in the vicinity of 2nullnull26.5null, 2nullis an angle which a diffracted X-ray beam from a specimen surface makes with an incident X-ray beam.

A panel structure for a Braun tube is disclosed. When the panel meets the following conditions:Rdo/(USDdnull1.767)null35and0.7null(MMLHd/OAH)null0.9,wherein Rdo denotes a radius of curvature of a panel in a cathode ray tube, USDd denotes a length of the effective surface part in a diagonal direction, MMLHd denotes a height from the seal edge line to the mold match line, and OAH denotes a total height of a panel, thereby suppressing implosion that occurs during or after fabrication of a Braun panel and securing an implosion proof characteristic.
Abstract:
An electrode plate for display device includes a substrate and a multi-layered conductive film. The multi-layered conductive film includes a lower side amorphous oxide layer, a silver-based layer, and an upper side amorphous oxide layer. The lower side amorphous oxide layer and the upper side amorphous oxide layer are formed of an amorphous and amorphous-like material. The film thickness of the upper side amorphous oxide layer is not larger than 20 nm.
Abstract:
A beam index type cathode ray tube having a screen divided into a plurality of areas and a plurality of electron guns corresponding to the divided screen areas. The beam index type cathode ray tube includes a tube of which inner atmosphere is maintained in a vacuum state and a screen formed at one side of an inner surface of the tube. The screen has phosphor stripes and index stripes. A plurality of electron guns are mounted in the tube facing the screen and a plurality of deflectors are mounted on the tube corresponding to the electron guns to deflect electron beams which are radiated from the electron guns to the screen. A plurality of detectors are mounted on the tube corresponding to the electron guns to sense lights emitted from the index stripes.
Abstract:
