    Abstract: Garden shears comprising a first blade (10) and a second blade (20) with respective handles (12 or 22) and which are rotatably connected to each other via a hinge connection (13, 23, 30, 41). The hinge connection comprises a pivot pin (32) for the respective bores (13, 23) of the first and second blade (10 and 20) and passing through the blades (10, 20) in the axial direction of the pivot pin (32). The pivot pin (32) is arranged in the bore (13) of the first blade (10) and has, consecutive in its axial direction, first and second circumferential portions (34, 35) of which the first circumferential portion (34) is rotatable over a limited angular range while the second circumferential portion (35) is mounted and rotationally fixed in the bore (23) of the second blade.

    Abstract: A three-stage snow thrower having a housing, a power supply, a longitudinal drive shaft extending from the power supply into the housing, and a lateral drive shaft extending between opposing side walls of the housing and being meshingly engaged with the longitudinal drive shaft within a gear assembly. The first stage assembly includes a plurality of augers attached to the lateral drive shaft for pushing loosened snow axially toward the gear assembly. The second stage assembly includes at least one auger attached to the longitudinal drive shaft for pushing snow from the first stage assembly axially rearward. The third stage assembly includes an impeller that rotates to throw the snow through a chute attached to the housing to expel the snow from the housing.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for a lawn maintenance vehicle park brake and traction drive interlock are provided. A park brake mechanism is selectively operable between an engaged position and a disengaged position. A traction drive is also mounted to the lawn maintenance vehicle, the traction drive having a disable mode which prohibits transmission of a driving force from the traction drive to a drive wheel. A first operable connection between the park brake mechanism and a wheel brake activates the wheel brake. A second operable connection between the park brake mechanism and the traction drive activates the disable mode of the traction drive. A method of controlling a lawn maintenance vehicle with a park brake and traction drive interlock include the steps of providing a lawn maintenance vehicle, providing an operable park brake mechanism, providing a first operable connection, and providing a second operable connection.

    Abstract: A high-efficiency blade for a lawn maintenance tool includes a central axis and a mounting portion located on the central axis. The high-efficiency blade includes a cutting blade and a cutting blade sharpened leading edge. A cleaning blade is vertically offset from the cutting blade and is configured to mulch the associated clippings from vegetation and reduce an associated accumulation of clippings on an underside of an associated mower deck. The lawn maintenance tool can also include a deck having a separation distance between the cleaning blade and an underside of the deck. The deck can include an elevation change to vary the separation distance. The deck and high-efficiency blade can also include a forward or rearward tilt.
