Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for firing an industrial furnace wherein coal or cokes together with a secondary fuel comprising cellulose and plastic, in the form of pellets of a size larger than about 3 mm thickness, and having a caloric value of about 16 GJ/ton or more is ground to a powder wherein about 95 wt% or more has a particle size smaller than 2 mm and wherein the d50 of the particle size distribution is between about 5 and about 100 µm, wherein the powder is injected in the flame of the furnace. In this process the grinding is performed in a roller mill or ball mill, and the amount of pellets used together with the coals is about 3 wt% or more, relative to the coal.
Abstract:
The method for supplying a fuel into a combustion chamber (1) comprises mixing the fuel with supercritical pressure CO 2 forming a mixture and injecting the mixture into a combustion chamber (1) having a pressure lower than the CO 2 critical pressure.
Abstract:
A system includes a solid feed pump 10 having a housing, a rotor disposed in the housing, a curved passage 33 disposed between the rotor and the housing, a solid feed inlet 14 coupled to the curved passage, and a solid feed outlet 16 coupled to the curved passage. Also, a solids packing device is coupled to the solid feed inlet of the solid feed pump. The solids packing device includes a first channel configured to receive a solid feed with a first range of sizes, a second channel configured to receive transport assisting particles (TAP) with a second range of sizes. The first range is different from the second range. A third channel is configured to receive and mix the solid feed and the TAP to provide a solid feed-TAP mixture with the TAP filling interspatial spaces between the solid feed. The third channel is coupled to the solid feed inlet.
Abstract:
Method for burning animal material and particularly such animal material, which may mean risk for spreadning of BSE (Bovine spongiform encefalopati), whereby the animal material prior to the burning is subjected to a pre-treatment by crushing, but without separation of fat, and without drying and sterilization is prepared to a mass haviung a considerable moisture content, whereupon the mass is fed into an appropriate burning boiler and thereby is well distributed in spray form or as strings, which are split to atomized particles by means of fuel lance prior to introduction in an appropriate combustion boiler, and that the burning of the material is performed at a combustion temperature of at least 850°C during at least 2 seconds.
Abstract:
The method of and apparatus for incinerating and melting wastes are incinerating the wastes and melting the same with the incombustible materials in the wastes continuously. Namely, throwing wastes in a rotary furnace (1), incinerating the wastes at a temperature from 800° C to 1,200° C, and melting the ashes of the wastes together with the remaining to be vitrified at a temperature of more than 1,600° C, by means of a burner (2) of oxygen type for using an oxygen gas having a density of more than 50%, and a fuel. The exhaust gas generated in the incineration and melting processes is introduced to a dust collector (7) for cleaning the same.
Abstract:
A thermal dechlorinating apparatus for collected ash, having a vertically elongated cylindrical apparatus body, a collected ash inlet and a collected ash outlet which are provided on the apparatus body and spaced in a vertical direction thereof, an inlet port for heated air provided on the portion of the apparatus body between the inlet and the outlet, an exhaust gas outlet provided on the portion of the apparatus body above the collected ash inlet, a rotary shaft provided along the axial direction of the apparatus body, a screw provided on the rotary shaft, and heating means provided on the portion of the apparatus body between the collected ash inlet and the collected ash outlet. Heated air is led into the apparatus body through the heated air inlet port. A stirred fluidized layer is formed in the portion of the apparatus body above the heated air inlet port, and a moving layer is formed below the heated air inlet port. Combustibles in the collected ash are burned in the stirred fluidized layer, and partial or entire decomposition and removal of chlorine compounds are performed in the moving layer using the combustion heat generated by burning the combustibles.
