Abstract:
Devices of a telecommunication network described herein are configured to reduce a service level associated with a quality of service offered by the telecommunication network to a user. The devices may reduce the service level responsive to data consumption by the user exceeding a threshold or responsive to data consumption associated with an application or data type. Also, the devices may be configured to increase a video-conversation-specific service level responsive to determining that a client device of the user is establishing a video conversation.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for fusing, for a subscriber, a plurality of applications and subscriber data across a plurality of subscriber access devices are described. The system includes a fusion server coupled to a voice-over-IP telephony switch and a television EBIF server. The fusion server receives and stores the subscriber data such as a list of contacts. The fusion server receives a communication in a first format from a first subscriber access device such as a set-top box, and translates the communication from the first format to a second format. The first and second formats include at least two of session initiation protocol (SIP), hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP), voice-over-IP (VoIP), simple object access protocol over extensible markup language (SOAP/XML), remote procedure call (RPC), and enhanced tv binary exchange format (EBIF). The fusion server transmits the translated communication to a second subscriber access device such as a smart phone or tablet computer.
Abstract:
A method for operating a voicemail system (110) can include receiving a call (302, 502) at the voicemail system (110), wherein the call originates from a calling party device (106), determining if the calling party device (106) is compatible with a video greeting feature (306, 506), sending a video greeting (308, 510) to the called party device (106) if it is determined that the calling party device (106) is compatible with the video greeting feature, and recording a voicemail message (314) received in response to the video greeting being played on the called party device (106). Another method can include sending a video greeting identifier to the called party device (106), the video greeting identifier being used to identify a video greeting stored on the calling party device (106). Methods for operating a mobile device (200) and a voicemail system (110) are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A method, terminal and system for implementing video binding in a voice communication network are provided, wherein, the system also includes: a terminal for initiating a voice call to a network device by the voice communication network, transmitting a calling request of video switching to the network device by a video network; a network device for setting up a voice call by the voice communication network after receiving the voice call of the terminal; after a calling request of video switching being received by a video communication network, video communication is set up according to the signed information of the terminal video binding service, the signed information is obtained by inquiring about the unit storing the signed information of the terminal video binding service; a unit storing the signed information of the terminal video binding service for transmitting the signed information of the terminal video binding service having been inquired to the network device. Video communication can be implemented in the voice communication network binding the video service.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for displaying visual content to a user corresponding to sound captured at a user terminal are disclosed. After receiving over a network from a user terminal a request to convert sound into a visual content representing the sound, wherein the sound comprises one or more words, a translation server may retrieve text corresponding to the one or more words from a database. The translation server may then convert the text into one or more content phrases, wherein the content phrases represent the meaning of the one or more words, and convert each of the one or more content phrases into a new language. Finally, the translation server may send visual content to the user terminal representing the new language.
Abstract:
An IP-based call center is able to route video and audio calls. The call routing is skills-based, and can be configured to give preference first to representatives or agents associated with an entity, and then to representatives or agents within a network associated with that entity. If no representative is available in-house or in-network, the call can be transferred to an external representative or agent. In other embodiments, an entity can configure prioritized layers for routing calls, in order to favor specific service providers.
Abstract:
Method, Server and Apparatus for identifying participants in a conference call, wherein the steps of : establishing the conference call among a plurality of apparatuses via a server, establishing a messaging interface by at least one apparatus to said server for transmitting identity information of a participant using said at least one apparatus, transmitting to the server upon detection of a generated voice signal the identity information, broadcasting by the server the identity information to the plurality of apparatuses in the conference call, and displaying by at least one apparatus the identity information on a display, are executed.
Abstract:
A communications network (2) includes means for recording the calling side of a video call in the form of video services equipment (8). The video services equipment (8) has associated with it a pool of virtual mobile numbers that a caller may dial in order to connect to the video. services equipment (8) for the purpose of recording a video call. Once a video call has been recorded and stored, a controller (12) sends a text message to the indicated intended recipient for the call to alert the intended recipient that a video message has been recorded for them. The message recipient is provided with a virtual mobile number that the message recipient can dial to connect to the video services equipment (8) to retrieve the recorded message.
