Abstract:
A method and arrangement in a multimedia gateway (300) connected to a multimedia service network (304), for providing access to multimedia services for communication devices (302) connected to a private network. The multimedia gateway may include a device database (316), a communication unit (312) and a logic unit (314). A service identity is associated with the multimedia gateway and is valid in the multimedia service network. When a session request is received, a session is established on behalf of at least one device in the private network using said service identity and capabilities of said at least one device. Thereby, no individual service identity is necessary for the selected device (s). If the session request is a session invitation of an incoming request, said at least one device is selected based on capability requirements for the session.
Abstract:
A method of distributing media from a network based content server to two or more clients participating in a burst-based service session. The method comprises, following establishment of said session, joining the content server to the session as a further participating client, sending a media grant to the content server, and delivering the requested media from the content server to the other participating clients.
Abstract:
An IMS node communicating with a user node and an information node is provided. The information node is adapted to conduct access control based on IMS Public User Identity. The IMS node comprises: request mediation means for mediating an access request from the user node to the information node by converting a first protocol conforming to IMS into a second protocol interpretable to the information node; and response mediation means for mediating an access response from the information node to the user node by converting the second protocol into the first protocol. The access request includes the IMS Public User Identity and information identity specifying information which the information node is requested to retrieve.
Abstract:
In a method of interference mitigation in a multi user detection capable radio base station in a communication system, which radio base station comprises a set confined detection modules (11,12,13,21,22,23), at least one of which is capable of handling multiple user connections, first (10) and at least a second (20) subset of detection modules are formed from said set, wherein the second set comprises at least one interference mitigation capable detection module (21). Interference information from the first subset is communicated to the second subset, interference originating in user connections of the first subset are then mitigated from the user connections of the second subset. Subsequently, interference is mutually mitigated between the connections within the interference mitigation capable detection module.
Abstract:
A mobile communications terminal for use in a cellular communications system such as a CDMA system. The terminal includes an electronic circuit for receiving a wire-less communications signal carrying signal channels having processing means for extracting the signal channels. The electronic circuit is adapted to classify a type of interference affecting the communications quality by evaluating signals selected in the electronic circuit that are selected as signals having information for classifying a type of interference in one of at least two predetermined classes of interference.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to methods and arrangements for gathering statistics relating to random access operation in a cell of a cellular radio communication network and supervising such random access operation. Statistics are gathered (301), per random access preamble code, relating to random access detections associated with one or more random access preamble codes used in the cell. Based on such gathered statistics, random access operation in the cell may be supervised by evaluating (311) the gathered statistics and, upon determining (312) that the random access detections associated with a specific random access preamble code exhibit an abnormal behaviour likely to be caused by false random access preamble detections, initiating (313) at least one of issuing a corresponding operation and maintenance alarm signal and automatically blocking further use of said specific random access preamble code in the cell.
Abstract:
The invention discloses a repeater antenna (250) for use in telecommunications systems on the microwave range, intended to connect a first radio unit (120) at a first site to a second radio unit at a second site (A). The repeater antenna has at least a first (410) and a second (420) antenna element and a feed network for said antenna elements, the antenna elements giving rise to a first (260) and a second (270) antenna beam. The first beam can be used to connect the repeater antenna to said first radio unit, and the second beam can be used for connecting the repeater antenna to said second radio unit. Also, said first and second antenna elements are arranged on a surface (430, 620) where the distance between the two antenna elements along the surface is longer than the shortest distance between the antenna elements. ® KIPO & WIPO 2008

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for determining operating modes in a receiver is described herein. A delay searcher in the receiver detects a signal image in the received signal. When the receiver is a RAKE receiver, a plurality of RAKE fingers coherently combine time-shifted versions of the received signal at different delays. Alternatively, when the receiver is a chip equalization receiver, an FIR filter coherently pre-combines the signal images in the received signal. A processor determines delays. In particular, the processor generates a first signal quality metric for a single-delay receiver mode, and generates a second signal quality metric for a multi-delay receiver mode. Based on a comparison of the first and second signal quality metrics, the processor selects the single-delay or the multi-delay receiver mode for processing the signal image.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for obtaining context information from a context server (318) maintaining a context for an object of interest (306a) in a telecommunication network. The context server receives raw context data from sensors (306) associated with the object of interest. A request is received from a requesting party for refined context information with reference to the object of interest. Individual context data is collected for at least one individual entity (316) of the requesting party. A customized rule is created on the basis of the received individual context data. The rule defines conditions in an adapted request for refined context information regarding the object of interest, which is sent, including the customized rule, to the context server of the object of interest. Context data refined according to the customized rule is then received from the context server.
