Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A method may include receiving, from a base station, a pre-grant message indicating that a downlink transmission is available for transmission to a user equipment (UE) on a first radio frequency (RF) spectrum band, and performing a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure. The UE may then transmit, based on the LBT procedure indicating a clear channel, a channel reservation signal on a second RF spectrum band, and transmit, to the base station, a response to the pre-grant message on the second RF spectrum band. Another method may include a base station transmitting a pre-grant message to the UE, and receiving a response to the pregrant message on a second RF spectrum band. The base station may then transmit the downlink transmission to the UE using one or more of a set of transmit beams on a first RF spectrum band.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. More particularly, aspects of the present disclosure provide multiplexing schemes which may be suited for the single carrier waveform. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Data may be received during transmission time intervals (TTIs) that have a short duration relative to other TTIs. The short-duration TTIs may occur within or overlap a longer duration TTI, such as a subframe. Feedback responsive to the data may be generated and assigned for transmission during an uplink TTI according to a feedback timing or delay, which may be selected to reduce latency or balance the payload size of uplink messages sent during the assigned uplink TTI. Data and feedback assignments in short-duration TTIs may be configured based on a time division duplexing (TDD) configuration for some TTIs (e.g., subframes). TTIs that are a Long Term Evolution (LTE) subframe, an LTE slot, and a duration of two LTE symbol periods may be supported. Portions of special TTIs may be used for transmissions according to shorter-duration TTIs.

Abstract: The present disclosure enables a base station to group UEs based on similar PMIs for a combined transmission. The apparatus may receive a plurality of PMIs from a plurality of UEs. In one aspect, each PMI in the plurality of PMIs may be received from a different UE. The apparatus may also assign each UE of the plurality of UEs to a UE group. In another aspect, each UE group may be associated with a different PMI set in a plurality of PMI sets. The apparatus may further assign a transmission scheme to each UE group. In one configuration, the apparatus may determine one or more preferred spatial layers for each UE (e.g., based on the PMIs) assigned to a UE group, and schedule a combined transmission for the UE group based on the determined one or more spatial layers.

Abstract: Various aspects described herein relate to communicating uplink control information (UCI) in low-latency communications. A resource assignment is received from an access point to transmit over a first symbol and a second symbol that comprise a first TTI, wherein the resource assignment includes, at least for the first symbol, an indication of one or more consecutive frequency resources in a system bandwidth based on a decimation factor. A reference signal is transmitted in the first TTI over the first symbol and a data signal indicating UCI over the second symbol according to the resource assignment.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for a slot format indicator (SFI) and slot aggregation level indication in a group common physical downlink control channel (GC PDCCH) and conflict handling for the SFI. According to certain aspects, a method of wireless communication by a base station (BS) is provided. The BS can determine a slot aggregation level and a format of the aggregated slots and send a downlink control channel including a SFI indicating the format of the aggregated slot and an indication of the slot aggregation level. The UE can receive the downlink control channel including the SFI and the indication of the slot aggregation level and the UE can determine a format of a current slot based on the received SFI and slot aggregation level.
