The invention relates to a coating method for coating at least one surface of a workpiece (1) by means of a coating element (2), from which material is transferred to the surface of the workpiece (1), wherein in a first method step at least the area of the surface of the workpiece (1) to be coated is heated, and in a further method step the area of the surface of a workpiece (1) to be coated is brought into contact with the coating element (2), wherein a relative motion between the surface of the workpiece (1) and the coating element (2) is applied.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To omit a cleaning step of a surface to be joined before a welding process, so that efficiency improvement in operation and welding with no error can be achieved.SOLUTION: A method for joining a first housing member 2 and a second housing member 3 by welding includes the steps of: preparing the first housing member having a first inside dimension I1; preparing the second housing member having a small cross section part including an outside dimension part A2 smaller than the inside dimension I1 of the first housing member and a large cross section part forming a press bonding part between the first housing member and the second housing member; arranging the second housing member inside the first housing member to form an annular gap 6 between an inner wall of the first housing member and an outer wall of the second housing member; and performing welding of the first housing member and the second housing member in an area of the gap between the first housing member and the second housing member.
