PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a swash plate excellent in abrasion resistance, seizure resistance and retention of lubricant.SOLUTION: A swash plate type compressor is equipped with a plurality of hemispherical shaped shoes 4 and a disk-shaped swash plate 2. In a front surface 2A and a rear surface 2B (a sliding surface) of the swash plate 2 sliding with the shoe 4, resin coating 12 of honeycomb structure is applied. An edge part 12B (an upper end) of each of numerous of cylindrical objects 12A constituting the resin coating 12 is on the same plane, and the plane serves as the sliding surface sliding with the end surface of the shoe 4. Also, an interior space of each of the cylindrical objects 12A serves as a storing part for the lubricant and as an accommodation part of a foreign substance 15.

The high synchromesh durability performance and gear protection of a manual transmission gear box is provided by adding to gear box a lubricating oil composition having improved water stability and oxidation control. That lubricating oil composition comprises a base oil of lubricating viscosity, an alkali-metal borate, an organic polysulfide, an alkyl succinic acid ester of a polyol, and an overbased sulfurized alkyl or alkenyl salicylate.

A gear lubricating oil composition comprising a base oil of lubricating viscosity having dissolved or dispersed therein an alkali metal borate or a hydrate thereof in an amount of 0.04 to 1.0 wt % in terms of boron content, an oil-soluble sulfur-containing extreme pressure agent in an amount of 0.01 to 5.0 wt % in terms of sulfur content, an oil-soluble phosphorus-containing extreme pressure agent in an amount of 0.001 to 1.0 wt % in terms of phosphorus content, and a zinc dialkyldithiophosphate in an amount of 0.01 to 1.0 wt % in terms of phosphorus content.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel lubricant and a friction modifier containing a solid lubricant and a binding agent as needed in an aqueous medium. SOLUTION: The problem to be solved is appropriate to lubricate steel-steel interfaces (e.g., tractor-trailer couplings, rail-wheel systems and other heavy duty applications). The invention is attained by a composition containing a friction modifier having a high or very high positive coefficient of friction such that the coefficient of friction is considerably higher than that of the solid lubricant. The invention further relates to a composition containing the binding agent and the friction modifier having a high or very high positive coefficient of friction in an aqueous medium. An aqueous lubricant for use in plastic working of a metallic material which comprises (A) a water soluble inorganic salt and (B) a wax, wherein the components are dissolved or dispersed in water, and wherein a solid concentration ratio (weight ratio) (B)/(A) is 0. 3 SIMILAR 1.5. and a method for producing a lubricative film, characterized in that a lubricative film is produced by applying the aqueous lubricant, preferably in a dried weight of 0.5 SIMILAR 40g/m , on the surface of a metallic material, providing no chemical conversion layer thereon, followed by drying. The aqueous lubricant preferably further comprises (C) a metal salt of a fatty acid in a solid concentration ratio (C) /(A) of 0.01 SIMILAR 0.4. The water soluble inorganic salt (A) is preferably selected from among a sulfate, a silicate, a borate, a molybdate and a tungstate. The wax is preferably a synthetic wax which is dispersed in water and has a melting point of 70 SIMILAR 150 DEG C. The metal salt of a fatty acid (C) is preferably obtained through reacting a saturated fatty acid having 12 SIMILAR 26 carbon atoms with a metal selected from among zinc, calcium, barium, aluminium, magnesium and lithium. The aqueous lubricant can be used for imparting excellent lubricity with ease to the surface of metal having no chemical conversion layer formed thereon.
