Abstract:
A pneumatic radial tire having a belt layer comprising a steel cord is disclosed. The steel cord is constructed as follows: (a) a 1+N structure is provided, where sheath filaments amounting to N in number are stranded up around a spirally-reformed core filament in a cord longitudinal direction; (b) a shape of a cord cross section is flat; (c) an open structure is provided, where a gap is formed between adjacent filaments of the sheath filaments in the cord cross section; (d) the core filament is caused to bite between the adjacent filaments; (e) a spiral direction of the core filament is identical to a stranding direction of the sheath filaments; and (f) a major axial direction of a flat surface of the cord cross section is set along a facial direction of the belt layer.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a two-layered twisted steel cord for reinforcing rubber articles, comprising a core (1) including two filaments and a sheath (2) including six or seven filaments wound around the core (1), in which an average twist pitch of the core (1) is set to be at least 30 mm, and when six filaments are used for the sheath (2), a ratio of diameter (ds) of each filament of the sheath (2) to diameter (dc) of each filament of the core, [(ds/dc) x 100], is set in a range of 58.0 %
Abstract:
A pneumatic radial tire for truck and bus comprises a carcass ply containing cords arranged substantially in a radial direction of the tire and a belt superimposed about said carcass ply and comprised of plural belt layers each containing steel cords arranged at a cord angle of 5-20° with respect to an equator of the tire. In this case, the steel cord for the belt layer has a two-layer structure of a core (1) comprised of two steel filaments and a single sheath (2) comprised of 6-8 steel filaments and satisfies the particularly relationships on filament diameter, twisting pitch, bending rigidity, tensile strength and distance between adjoining cords.
Abstract:
A steel cord (C) comprises a core (1) and a sheath (3) arranged around the core. The core consists of two steel filaments (2), and the sheath consists of eight steel filaments (4). The diameter of each of the filaments is in a range from 0.30 to 0.42 mm, and a difference D c -D s between the diameter D c of the filaments of the core and that D s of the sheath is not less than 0.04 mm. The twisted direction of the core is the same as that of the sheath, and a ratio P s /P c between a pitch P s of the sheath and that of P c of the core is in a range from 1.4 to 3.0.
Abstract:
A steel cord for reinforcing rubber products such as truck tyres comprises a plurality of steel wires twisted together to form a multiwire layered cable construction having two or more successive wire layers around a common core. The wires of the outer layer are covered by a rubber adherable coating of e.g. brass and the wires (shaded) of the layer inwardly adjacent the surface layer are covered by a corrosion resistant coating, such as zinc or a zinc alloy.
Abstract:
A steel cord for a tire reinforcement having a non-circular cross-section includes: a lower strand; and an upper strand that surrounds an outer circumferential surface of the lower strand so as to have an m+n structure, wherein the lower strand includes a plurality of core wires, each of the plurality of core wires have a flat surface on a portion in which the plurality of the core wires come into contact with each other, and the plurality of core wires come into surface contact with each other through the flat surface.
Abstract:
Provided is a steel cord for reinforcing rubber articles which has both rubber penetration and productivity and which allows to reduce the weight of a tire without compromising the strength of the tire when applied to a tire, and a pneumatic tire using the same. The steel cord for reinforcing rubber articles of the present invention is a steel cord for reinforcing rubber articles comprising a core formed by arranging two core filaments in parallel without twisting the filaments together, and six sheath filaments twisted around the core. Letting the diameter of the core filament dc (mm), the diameter of the sheath filament ds (mm) and sheath filament twist pitch p (mm), an average sheath filament interval D represented by the following Formula (I): D = L - 6 ds 1 + L / p 2 1 / 2 / 6 (where L = (π + 2)dc + πds) is from 25 to 80 µm.
