Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trisiloxane surfactant composition showing resistance to hydrolysis in a wide pH range.SOLUTION: Three types of trisiloxane surfactants having a basic formula MDM' are described. A substituent on the M and M' groups different from each other functions, together with a pendant polyalkylene oxide substituent on the D group, to render the surfactant to be hydrolysis-resistant under a basic or acidic condition outside the pH range from pH 6.0 to 7.5. The composition is useful for application to agricultural, domestic and cosmetic use.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disclose chemical conversion and/or passivation coating for treating a metal surface, such as steel and aluminum, which is escaped from chemical conversion coating of a chromium compound and a heavy metal salt of phosphoric acid, and a method of the same.SOLUTION: This composition includes a colloidal oxide particle, such as a metal oxide or silica particle, an aqueous solution of partial or complete condensate of organic functional silane, various organic solvents not including a harmful air pollutant, and a stabilizer selected from the group consisting of alcohols, ethers, esters, ketones, pyrrolidones, and polyether silanes. In a method for treating a metal surface, the metal surface is brought into contact with the coating composition, and the chemical conversion or passivation coating is formed on the metal surface.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a room temperature-curable polyorganosiloxane composition with good adhesion durability.SOLUTION: This room temperature-curable polyorganosiloxane composition includes (A) 100 pts.mass of polyorganosiloxane whose molecular chain terminal is blocked with a hydroxy group or hydrolyzable group, and which has viscosity at 23°C of 20-1,000,000 mPa s, (B) a principal agent comprising 10-200 pts.mass of a filler, and (C) a curing agent. As the curing agent of the component (C), an alkoxysilane of general formula (I) and an amino-functional alkoxysilane of general formula (II) are contained, but no metal-containing curing catalyst is contained. General formula (I): RSi(OR), where Ris a ≥4C alkyl group. General formula (II): (RO)RmSi-R-NH-R-SiR(OR), where Rand Rare same or different from each other, each representing a (substituted) monovalent hydrocarbon group, and m and l are each an integer of 1-3.
