Abstract:
An apparatus for separating solids from solids laden drilling fluid, the apparatus comprising a shale shaker and a screen assembly (300), the shale shaker comprising a base and a basket (30) isolated from said base, a flow tray (301) arranged in said basket (30) for directing screened drilling fluid, the screen assembly (300) comprising at least one layer of screening material (299), a screen support (340) having a perimeter with at least one support point within said perimeter, characterised in that the flow tray (301) comprises at least one raised portion (313a-313e) to support said screen assembly (300).
Abstract:
A screen panel for mining and quarrying industries adapted to be mounted on a screen deck, including a screening surface made up of materials such as herein described formed on a reinforcing, said screening surface having suitably designed apertures of desired shape for allowing materials of desired size to pass through, said, said reinforcing being an external reinforcing (2), whereby screening efficiency of said screen panel is substantially enhanced.
Abstract:
An assembly for sealing a shaker screen (12) assembly in a shaker separator (10) includes a substantially inflexible gasket (26) affixed to each screen support (18) and a flexible gasket (24) affixed to each screen support (18) such that the screen frame rests atop the gaskets (24, 26) on the support around its periphery. A wedge block retainer bracket (4) is affixed to each side wall of the shaker separator (10) above the corresponding section of the screen frame. A wedge block (14) is selectively drivable into the space between the wedge block retainer bracket (4) and the corresponding section of the screen frame, providing force thereto sufficient to seat the screen frame against the inflexible gasket (26) and to compress the flexible gasket (24) between the screen frame and the screen support (18), thereby providing a substantially fluid tight seal.

Abstract:
A screen is described wherein one end of the screen frame is provided with an upwardly open channel profile and the other end with a similar but downwardly open channel profile, such that the outboard edge of an upwardly open profile will fit within the channel of a downwardly open profile provided along the edge of an adjoining screen frame, to enable two such screens to be connected together and to enable linear movement in a direction generally perpendicular to the line of engagement and generally in the plane of at least one of the two screens, to be transmitted from one screen frame to the other. The engagement of one profile by another also serves to close the gap between the two screen frames and prevent at least particulate material from passing therebetween. Preferably the engagement prevents liquid from passing therebetween. The engagement may comprise a lost motion connection so as to permit one frame to be hingeable relative to the other about the connection, but still provides a reliable force-transmitting connection to enable a rear screen frame to be removed from the support structure simply by pulling out the front frame of the pair.
