PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pitcher type water purifier.SOLUTION: A pitcher type water purifier includes: a pitcher body having a bottomed cylindrical casing and a partition part partitioning inside the casing; a pitcher lid configured to close an opening upper end part of the pitcher body; and a water purification cartridge detachably attached to an installation part opened in the partition part.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrapure water producing system and ultrapure water producing method more simplified while maintaining the water quality of ultrapure water to be made.SOLUTION: The ultrapure water producing system comprises: a pretreatment unit to which water to be treated is introduced; and an ultrapure water producing unit including a pretreatment bath 14, a reverse osmosis membrane device 15 to which pretreated water is introduced from the pretreatment bath, and an electric deionization device 16, wherein: the pretreatment unit includes an active carbon filter device 13; the active carbon filter device includes a filter body having a sheet-shaped member wound in a spiral shape and a filtering bath through which water passes and in which the filter body is filled with its axis being in the direction of a water flow; the sheet-shaped member is formed by superposing a mesh sheet having holes through which water passes on a sheet surface of a sheet-shaped spacer through which water passes with more difficulty than through the mesh sheet; and at least portions of the mesh sheet and the spacer are formed of an active carbon fiber.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy-saving ionized water production apparatus and method each of which can produce a strongly alkaline ionized water within a short time.SOLUTION: There is used an ionized water production apparatus 1 constituted by arranging a first electrolytic cell 20A in a first electrolysis tank 10A, arranging a second electrolytic cell 20B in a second electrolysis tank 10B, and quantitatively and continuously transferring an alkaline ionized water formed in the electrolytic diaphragm 21 of the first electrolytic cell 20A to the electrolytic diaphragm of the second electrolytic cell 20B by a transfer pump 50 arranged in the water pouring pipe 27A of the first electrolytic cell 20A, and current application is performed by setting the current passed through the first electrolytic cell 20A at 5-15 A and setting the current passed to the second electrolytic cell 20B at 15-20 A within the range in which the sum of the current passed through the first electrolytic cell 20A and that passed through the second electrolytic cell 20B is 25-30 A.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-purifying cartridge capable of performing variable-setting of additive concentration with a simpler constitution, and to provide a water purifier including the water-purifying cartridge. SOLUTION: A purifying chamber for purifying water and an additive accommodating chamber for accommodating an additive to be added to water are formed in a case 7 of the water-purifying cartridge 6 and, to the case 7, a movable cover member 23 which forms a water inlet 7a for introducing water to the additive accommodating chamber and performs variable setting of opening width w (opening area) of the water inlet 7a is attached.
