Abstract:
An image forming apparatus (1) includes a panel portion (71) connected with a control portion (60) of an apparatus body (10) and being capable of executing at least one of functions of displaying information obtained from the control portion (60) and of inputting information to the control portion (60), and an antenna (74) capable of transmitting/receiving radio waves to/from a mobile terminal (101) brought close to the antenna (74). The NFC substrate (72) can make communication between the mobile terminal (101) brought close to the antenna (74) and the control portion (60) by a near field communication system. The antenna (74) is provided under and in a vicinity of the panel portion (71) in a front view of the panel portion.
Abstract:
A mobile terminal capable of securely achieving log-in to a desired MFP. The mobile terminal comprises a detection unit (201), a transmission unit (210), and a display unit (206). The detection unit (201) detects at least one image processing apparatus which performs near field wireless communication. The transmission unit (210) transmits, to a detected image processing apparatus, user information used to log into the image processing apparatus. The display unit (206) displays, in a case where a plurality of image processing apparatus is detected, a selection screen through which a user selects an image processing apparatus to be logged in by using the user information.
Abstract:
A communication apparatus (200) capable of executing a power saving mode, which is able to communicate with an information processing apparatus (30), comprises first communication means (318) for broadcasting an advertising signal (508, 510-514) based on a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) standard as a first communication standard, so as to communicate with the information processing apparatus (30), and second communication means (302) for communicating data with the information processing apparatus (30) based on a second communication standard which is able to perform a longer-range wireless communication than the BLE standard. The communication apparatus further comprises a determination means (302) for determining a state of the communication apparatus, and the first communication means (318) transmits information according to the state of the communication apparatus determined by the determination means (302) based on the BLE standard, before a connection with the information processing apparatus (30) based on the second communication standard is performed.
Abstract:
An apparatus that executes a job, broadcasts a wireless signal prior to establishing a connection by wireless communication with an external apparatus. The wireless signal includes information relating to the apparatus, by which it can be identified whether execution of a job by the apparatus is possible, in a predetermined packet.
Abstract:
A print data processing device that is a device for processing print data transmitted from a host device, and electronically providing printouts according to user needs without making changes on the host device side and without wasting paper. The print data processing device includes: a data storage unit that receives and stores print data sent from a host device; an information acquisition unit that acquires requirement information indicating whether or not printing on print media is required; a data processing unit that, when the requirement information indicates printing on the print media is not required, converts the stored print data to print simulation data that does not cause execution of a printing process by a printer; a data output unit that outputs stored print data or print simulation data to the printer according to the requirement information; and a response unit that receives the response to the host device from the printer based on the output print data or print simulation data, and relays the response to the host device.
Abstract:
An information processing apparatus includes: a request transmitting unit that transmits a registration request for a service which is provided from a service providing system, through a network, by using user information that is selected by a user from among a plurality of pieces of user information; an acquiring unit that acquires confirmation information, which is returned by the service providing system in response to the registration request; and an instruction unit that suppresses an application, which is configured to perform automatic log-in to the service providing system with default user information which has set, from performing the automatic log-in with the default user information and then instructs the application to send a confirmation response to the service providing system by using the confirmation information.
Abstract:
A printing system and a method of controlling a printing system capable of making it easier for service providers that provide print services via a network to spread more easily are provided. Also, a printing system and a method of controlling a printing system by which a service user can use print services easily are provided.
Abstract:
A method of mobile (901) faxing using near field communication (NFC) includes executing a mobile application installed in a mobile device; setting a wireless connection for data transmission between the mobile device and an image forming apparatus by performing NFC tagging on the image forming apparatus with the mobile device (902,903); and automatically sending data corresponding to a fax function upon the wireless connection being established.
Abstract:
A mobile device (50) includes an operation unit (51), a display (52), an operation screen display (57b), and a function execution unit (57c). The operation screen display (57b) displays an operation screen to operate the image forming apparatus (30) on the display (52). The function execution unit (57c) performs a function other than a function executable by the image forming apparatus (30) alone and a specific function performed using the image forming apparatus (30). The function execution unit (57c) performs the specific function according to an operation to an operation part in the operation screen displayed on the display (52) via the operation unit (51).
