Regulating compression. - In a compressor provided with automatic means D for unloading the cylinder, means are provided for causing the unloader to start operation at different predetermined pressures. The lever F of the unloader is connected by a link a to a rod d provided with a flange f on which weights W may rest. A cylinder V containing a piston j is connected by a pipe o to the delivery pressure, so that by opening a cock q the pressure may force down the piston j and an arm g connected thereto, thus bringing the weights W to rest on the flange f and increasing the load on the lever F. This raises the pressure at which the unloader D will operate.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a compressor system operable for compressing a working fluid such as air. A conditioner is positioned upstream of the compressor to reduce the humidity and in some embodiments may control a temperature of the working fluid entering the compressor. A working fluid aftercooler and a lubricant cooler is positioned downstream of the compressor. A first heat exchange system directs water from a source through the conditioner and then to the aftercooler and oil cooler in parallel. A second heat exchange system directs oil from the compressor to the oil cooler and then to a regenerator prior to reentry into the compressor. A control system with one or more control valves is configured to provide oil to the compressor at a target temperature defined to ensure that the temperature of the discharged compressor is above a pressure dew point temperature.

Abstract: A barrier for use with a rod extending into a bore having a cross sectional dimension, formed in a structure. The barrier is located on one side of a fluid supply in the bore. The barrier includes a sealing portion adjacent the fluid supply, the sealing portion has a flexible flange in sealing contact with the bore. A tube is connected to the sealing portion and has a rod passageway formed there through. A diameter of the tubular portion is smaller than the cross sectional dimension prior to insertion of the rod, and expands to conform to the cross sectional dimension in response to insertion of the rod. A rupture portion is connected to the tubular portion, and seals the rod passageway to limit a passage of fluid therethrough prior to insertion of the rod. The rupture portion is adapted to rupture in response to penetration by the rod. The barrier may be used in conjunction with a dynamic earth anchor, to prevent passage of the grout to between the anchor and the bore.

Abstract: A closed loop hydraulic system for use in a rotary drilling apparatus includes an extendible-retractable feed cylinder and a valve for biasing the feed cylinder. A variable, reversible displacement pump is provided for pumping fluid from either of the first and second pump ports, including pumping fluid to the feed cylinder. A reservoir retains a supply of fluid for the system. A check valve is provided for supplying additional fluid to the pump in response to the feed cylinder being extended. An overcenter valve is connected to each of the first and second ports for controlling flow from the system in response to pressures received from the first and second ports when the feed cylinder is extended and retracted.

Abstract: 2111848 9301443 PCTABS00019 A fluid connection and control device for fluid machines permits fluid inlet or outlet connections without the necessity for threaded adapters. This is accomplished by a radially symmetrical body (25) having first and second ends and a central axial fluid passage (28) connecting the ends. The body is appropriately sized for the fluid channel of the fluid machine and has a provision (22) at the first end for attachment of a flexible hose (20). The second end has a provision for a fluid tight seal between the body and the fluid channel as well as a mechanism by which the body is captured within the fluid channel (15) of the fluid machine. Options are provided for incorporation of a valve mechanism (33) for controlling the fluid flow. The valve mechanism may be incorporated as an integral part of the body or as a separate modular unit (fig. 3) which is retained in the fluid channel (15) by the connector body (25). This provides the advantages of rapid assembly and avoidance of undue stresses to the fluid machine housing, and also provides flexibility of the hose directly adjacent the housing which contributes to improved maneuverability.
